Groups & organizations

Two ways to work with other people here, and one page for both. A group is a space for neighbours to discuss and organise one local issue. An organization is a channel that publishes sourced work under its own name.

Start a group

A space for neighbours to discuss and organise one local issue - a rezoning, a school board seat, a budget line.

  • Three steps, and no source required.
  • You choose who joins: open to your area, approval by a lead, or invitation only.
  • Members discuss inside the group; invitation links expire and can be revoked.
  • Joining never publishes what you read or saved, and private groups are visible only to their approved members.

For an established group

Create an organization

A public publishing channel: what your organization believes, under its own name, where anyone can read it.

  • An @handle channel at /u/your-handle, with a calling card of its own.
  • It declares positions against real records - each one carries a claim and a source, and the form will not submit without one.
  • Anyone can follow it and read its positions; joining is what opens its members-only posts. You set open or approve-each-request.
  • Channels are saved on this device for now - there is no channel-claim endpoint yet, so nothing is published to other people.

Reach is audience, not authority. A statewide or nationwide group does not own a record, speak for a government, or get priority placement. Reading public evidence never requires membership: dossiers, meetings and bills stay open whether or not you join anything.
