The Story
SB 1234 requires social workers to specifically document whether a child is at risk of fentanyl or opioid exposure during dependency investigations. If a court finds a risk of parental fentanyl use, it must order the parent or guardian to undergo drug testing and include substance storage safety information in their court-ordered case plan.
