Student and Staff Recognition Type Recognition VVSD Staff Spotlight- Andrew Demaio, Science Teacher- Bolingbrook High School In addition to his skills as a teacher and his science knowledge, Bolingbrook HS Science Teacher Andrew Demaio brings to the classroom practical engineering experience he gained while working in the private sector. Dr. Demaio’s practical experience as a mechanical engineer includes research & development for Dow Chemical and developing new products from recycled paper waste. However, during his time as a graduate teaching assistant at Georgia Tech, Dr. Demaio discovered that he enjoyed teaching. That realization led to a change in careers that allows him to pass his knowledge, expertise, and love of science to students at Bolingbrook High School.
