Captions. Standing by. City of davis. City council. Tuesday, JANUARY 20th, 2020. >> to accept this proclamation. And I just want to say that I'm. I'm really honored to be able to read this mission. My both my children and my grandson did their faith formation at saint james. So this is a very happy about this. The city of davis acknowledges the contributions of faith based institutions to the history, welfare, education and inspiration of its residents. The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of saint james catholic church, dedicated to GOD and sharing the message of hope, mercy and love to the community through its good works. Saint james catholic church currently has 2650. Families as members of the prish and a celebrating 150 years of its continued operation at successive locations, as well as celebrating the 50th anniversary of the completion of its current church building at 14th and v streets in 1975, the church and its parishioners have taken an active role in the formation and ongoing support of many community benefit organizations, including the short term emergency aid committee, heart of davis, davis community meals and housing, and the saint james conference of the saint vincent de paul society. During its many years in davis, saint james catholic church has endeavored to be a positive presence in the davis community. Open and conjunction with other religious and non-profit organizations with a focus on feeding the hungry, housing and clothing. The needy, and supporting families and children. Now, therefore, we, the davis city council, on behalf of the citizens of davis, congratulate saint james catholic church on reaching this milestone of 150 years in davis and expresses its appreciation for the many positive contributions that saint james catholic church has made to our community. >> thank you. >> the people of saint james parish and the school. Really appreciate this proclamation. Putting a finer point on it. It really shows reflects the the attitude of unity from the from the community of davis. For us, the attitude of goodwill that they've always given us through all these 150 years. And I think that relationship will continue for many more generations. And that's very much appreciated. Now in our faith, we ae called to love GOD. The full being and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Now, in doing that, that's a calling that lasts to the end of time. Hopefully we'll get there someday. But it's a long but it's always an adventure going through all of that. You you're going to face in parish life the same kinds of trials and tribulations, joys and sufferings that you find in any other kind of life. But living in the town of community, the community of davis. We have never felt alone. We've never felt abandoned. We've always enjoyed and the support we have had gotten from this town. And we. Remain grateful for that forever. Now the the town, the parish and the school will continue and their mission. They'll continue to ty to open hearts to the love of GOD and to the love of neighbor. And it's through that love, that life comes. And it's also through that love tat the grace flows within the community of davis. We appreciate you joining us on that adventure throughout these all these years. And GOD bless you all. Thank you. >> thank you. >> what I would like to do a photo okay. We have public comment and the consent calendar. And the special comment. Yeah. It is a special meeting. So comment on the consent items and information. I know, great. S now we are going to turn to item two. And because this is a special meeting which is a little bit different from a regular meeting, w open it up to public comment. But public comment at a special meeting is just on the consent calendar or on the proclamation that we just issued. So if there's anyone here that wants to offer public comment on the consent calendar or on the saint james proclamation, when we convene our regular meeting later, there will be public comment on that item. Seeing none. I'll right then that actually concludes the special meeting and we will adjourn now. And we will reconvene at. Sorry. >> if I MAY, can you please approve the consent calendar? >> oh my apologies, thank you. Yes, we do need a motion to approve the consent calendar. Thank you. Very good. Sorry about that. There's a motion by seconded by. All in favor of approval of a consent calendar. Say aye. Aye. Any nos? No. Seeing none. It is - approved. Thank you. City clerk. So, with that, we are actually adjourned from the special meeting. And we're reconvene at 630
