Open Discussion Marcel Dinard of HTG (Housing Trust Group, Miami) discussed current efforts to market the Astoria 62+ property that will be ready for occupancy in March 2025. The committee expressed concern that while classified as “affordable”, the rents seemed on the high end for seniors who most often have a fixed income (base rent of $1,060 for a 1 bedroom). Mr. Paulson suggested using a “grossed up” non-taxable income to help qualify applicants. In addition to their marketing efforts in facebook, Apartments.com. 55.com, Zillow, etc. Chair Cliatt suggested advertising in The Tempo, a local African-American publication. It was agreed that a list of affordable housing facilities should be made available to Realtors to better get the word out. VI. Set Next Meeting Date – March 20, 2025 at 9:00am. VII. Adjourn Meeting was adjourned at 9:36 a.m. NOTE: This is not a verbatim record.
