Visitors are always welcome, and public comments are encouraged. Those wishing to address the Board on items not on the agenda may do so under "Public Comments to Address the Board of Trustees." Please secure a Speaker Card from the Executive Assistant. In accordance with Education Code 35145.5, the Board cannot enter into a formal discussion or make a decision on any matter not on the agenda. The Baord may refer any subject discussed to the Superintendent for follow up.

In accordance with requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and related federal regulations, individuals who require special accommodation, including but not limited to an American Sign Language interpreter, accessible seating or documentation in accessible formats, should contact the Superintendent's office at least three days before the meeting date. This will enable the District to make reasonable arrangement to ensure accessibility to the Board meeting and to provide any required accommodations, auxiliary aids or services .

Board agendas and minutes are available on the district's website at www.oxnardunion.org . Minutes can be made available, upon request, in another language. A student's parent/guardian, or a student aged 18 or older, may request in writing that their personal directory information (EC 49061) be excluded from the minutes of Board Meetings (EC 49073.2)

It is the recommendation of District Administration that the Board of Trustees adopt the agenda of September 4, 2024 Special Board meeting, as presented.

PUBLIC COMMENTS TO ADDRESS THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES Those persons wishing to address the Board may do so at this time and are asked to complete a Speaker Card. All public comments are to be directed to the Boardpresident. Individual speakers shall be allowed three (3) minutes to address the Board on each agenda or non-agenda item. However, in exceptional circumstances when necessary to ensure full opportunity for public input, the president may, with Board consent, adjust the amount of time allowed for public input and/or the time allotted for each speaker. Any such adjustment shall be done equitably so as to allow a diversity of viewpoints. The president may also ask members of the public with the same viewpoint to elect a few individuals to address the Board on behalf of that viewpoint. In order to ensure that non-English speakers receive the same opportunity to directly address the Board, any member of the public who utilizes a translator shall be provided at least twice the allotted time to address the Board. Please refer to the complete text of Oxnard Union High School District Board Bylaw 9323:Conduct of Board Meetings - Public Participation. Due to the Brown Act that governs public meetings, the Board cannot respond directly to public comments. The Board can direct the Superintendent and Staff to meet with members of the public to better understand their concerns or points of view.
