Federal and State laws, rules and regulations require that institutions receiving federal financial assistance take steps to prohibit discrimination and harassment on the bases of race, sex, national origin and disability in the provisions of and access to educational programs, services and activities as well as in their employment practices. The 2019-2020 Annual Equity Update outlines the results of the district's disaggregated data on student participation rates in advanced placement, dual enrollment, honors and level 3 courses. The 2019-2020 Annual Equity Update also includes the results of the district’s comprehensive review of the district’s athletics’ programs; employment data for administrative, instructional and guidance positions. The district is in compliance with proportionality in gender equity in athletics at the middle and high schools, and will continue to offer athletic programs to maintain proportionality between male and female students. The district is underrepresented in minority administrative and instructional staff. The district has strategies in place to increase representation and maintain equity in employment at the administrative and instructional level. TPG provides opportunities for educators from around the world and schools and school districts in the United States to participate in a mutually beneficial cultural and professional experience through the temporary placement of international teachers in schools in the United States. To further those goals, the TPG Exchange Program provides for a temporary stay of 1 to 5 years for visiting educators (“Educator or Educators”) after which the Educators share in their home countries the cultural and educational knowledge gained. The typical period of stay for an Educator in the United States is 3 years. TPG wishes to support Educators to teach at participating school(s) in the District as an Exchange Visitor under the sponsorship of either TPG Cultural Exchange, LLC or its permitted subcontractors Clear Horizons, LLC and Athena Cultural Exchange, LLC. School districts (not individual schools) generally hire teachers. As a result, references to school district, district, and school throughout this Agreement refer to the administrative entity that hires the teachers and all participating schools where teachers are placed. MCSD has integrated the blended learning platform into Professional Development across the District for both instructional and operational staff. Content Coordinators, The Title Department, Student Services, Human Resources, and the Professional Development Department have all created custom course content within the platform. In May 2019, the system had over 35,000 minutes of usage by nearly 1,200 staff members. Besides custom course creation, the platform allows for great interactive learning where users can post reactions to video content and create groups of the size needed for the specific professional development design (from 1 person up to the entire MCSD staff). Staff successfully worked to integrate the system with Skyward to automate the collection of inservice points as well as the necessary coursework and processes for onboarding and new hire compliance training this summer This is a 4.85% increase from 2018-2019 contract agreement.
