POSTPONED Citizen Advisory Committee Type Discussion THE AUGUST 6, 2021, CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO A FUTURE DATE (TO BE DETERMINED). Meeting is postponed: This agenda is published to inform the public that a Citizen Advisory Committee comprised of School Board members' appointees will convene a public meeting to discuss the use of voter approved referendum funds on the date/time/place as indicated. Background: On April 23, 2019, a referendum was held, and voters of St. Lucie County overwhelmingly approved the imposition of a 1.0 mil ad valorem levy for four years beginning with the 2019 tax year and ending with the 2023 tax year to raise teacher pay and retain high quality teachers, improve school safety with school resource officers in every school, expand mental health services and preserve important school programs. The Referendum language included a provision for the establishment of a Citizens Advisory Committee to oversee the use of referendum funds. Volunteers to serve on the Citizen Advisory Committee were sought and appointees were approved by the School Board during its August 13, 2019, Regular Meeting. Newly elected (11-03-2020) School Board Member Jack Kelly's appointee is Doug Baber.
