FPL requires that payment be paid first, prior to FPL scheduling the removal of the transformer with their staff. Staff received this information on 02/22/2023 and began to process the payment with the School District. The removal of the transformer is not part of the GMP (guaranteed maximum price) provided by the Construction Manager @ Risk for the project but is still part of the project costs that school district is required to pay. The removal of the existing transformer(s) is typical for this type of project and is required to be paid by the school district to the utility provider FPL. Staff is trying to avoid any future delays in the construction schedule for the Jensen Beach Elementary project with the approval of payment to FPL Refer to attached pdf for the payment information for this item.
