Consent Agenda: Instruction Division Type Action (Consent) It is recommend by the Board of Trustees approve the Memorandum of Understanding between Grand Canyon University of College of Nursing and Health Care Profession student and the Kern High School District. The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to confirm the arrangement for Grand Canyon University College of Nursing and Health Care Professions student and the qualified representative of facility "preceptor/mentor" to work collaboratively to fulfill the practicum/practice immersion field experience. Kern High School District is to provide a supportive and nurturing learning environment where the RN-BSN student can observe and participate in community health nursing, specifically within the context of school nursing. This experience is crucial for the student to complete the required community health practicum hours, which are necessary for fulfilling the graduation requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The time periods will be mutually arranged and agreed upon by the preceptor/mentor and the student within the dates of the field experience course(s). Consent Agenda: Instruction Division Type Action (Consent) Recommendation is made that the Board of Trustees approve the Memorandum of Understanding Agreement between the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kern County and the Kern High School District/South High School. The goal of this program is to facilitate a school to career workshop, known as "Career Launch" and an enrichment/social recreation program for thirty (30) students at South High School that will foster soft skills, explores career paths, promote mentorship, and establish summer paid internships in a variety of local industries. The term of this Agreement shall be for January 2025 through June 2025. Consent Agenda: Instruction Division Type Action (Consent) Recommendation is made that the Board of Trustees approve the Service Site Placement Agreement between Kern County Superintendent of Schools/Kern Community Mentoring AmeriCorps Program and the Kern High School District. The purpose of this Agreement is to place AmeriCorps Members to serve as mentors to students in the Kern High School District (11 full-time Members.) These tools include: text-to-speech functionality, built-in glossaries, video captions, translation features, highlighted text options, and the ability to listen to audio pronunciations of vocabulary words within the lessons.
