And all right. Now we can move to presentations to the board. And then today, right? A new business. I think we're start >> November fresh Fridays Projection Mapping in partnership with Ring in College Department of Motion Design and Late mural. Yes. So go ahead and call down our friends here. they just give a brief introduction I'm going to turn it over to our team here. Actually. Would you like go ahead and introduce yourselves a >> Hello again afternoon. But I've got know Ringling College of Art design when Kelly. Want to also professional professor at College of Art Design and remind partners like meal. >> It former department head of the Department of Motion Design of Ringling College, but now retired working killing one with our company like mural. That does, which is ticks for protection. >> Yes, and said I'm going to see a brief overview for this This is a this is year 2 a project that we started last year on the Palm Avenue parking garage part of the November Fresh Fridays event. So total project budget for this would be up to and I'm going to go ahead and turn it right over to adding Kelly and actually switch presentations. Real quick here. Let's move Great. Thank you so much. Hello. We are not new faces. We put him before. It's nice to see you all again. We're here representing last year's experience of the Fresh Fridays. >> And I hope you're all familiar with how successful how excited we were to do all that specially the student engagement and the student results of that. We're also representing the potential event that we want to do this November for Fresh Fridays as well. And so we have a quick little presentation to show you and we'll just get through it. And then use computer. Okay. This one. This one. Some it. Okay. Let's get judgment cities or so to really cause department as well as year. And for the department emotions. I didn't really cause for design. I won't read all this week. just look at that. What we are proposing a one night temporary public art installation. Future projection mapping again. The incredible structure of the Palm Avenue parking garage. Zipping through. We just a quick refresher of who we are. We are the number one ranked motion design Department in the world right down the street. We're very excited and proud. And to brag about the effect a little bit internationally recognized for award-winning student work again, you know, just as the catalyst of why we're here, it is solely about the educational component. The student experience, especially working with the city bringing art to the masses, so to and what better place to do that then, of course, are Florida. We're doing the projection mapping course. Once again this fall with this with all new students and one of the combination of that, course, again, the highlight again, it does go through are potentially is is to do the presentation again downtown fresh Friday sometime in November. I think we have a day are ready contest the first Friday in Emissions in projection mapping courses providing immersive community-centered celebration of their academic work, especially geared towards not just generic or ambiguous artistic work, but work that reflects the environment. The city of Sarasota that our community and of course, the the students and the college. collaboration together is what is so important to us zipping through. We have a quick little video to see if it plays rough. Asked us to give you highlight on this. Not sure how we doing on time. So you take your time or get. the people we want to, you know, it you know, is actually my first fresh Friday and I was astounded at the at the crowds, the excitement, the environment and I think the projection mapping with the student work as well as light murals of contribution to actually making this happen. The logistics are all basically turn key right here it's I think it was an incredible success. I'm to the point to remind us there was a day created in honor of this event of the students and you it was called again art and Ocean use Ocean Day. Thank you. So I don't bring the on the photo of the students were here. We just have actually the have a picture. >> Has that that right there? That's 1000 words right there right there how that actually goes >> the canvas, again, we want to use its given didn't that the canvas, of course, the incredible building that we have, you know, allowed to use on this is You know, one of the highlights of the city and we want to actually exploit that incredible architecture to expand on the art itself. Processed. Remember respectable lot of steps to, you know, ID 8 prototype, an anime test and reiterate as well as of course, getting your input on it. That's that's the Super ocean. closer than that as well as getting your input because we want to reflect, obviously not just what the students say. You know what? I want to create a day that we want to reflect the artistic and student collaboration with the city that is. You know, the major thing that we would like to do here. Couple of quick shots of the students at work. Simulating models working with the technology for a shot at year. So again, we would love to invite and incorporate your input on in-person or remotely to see what would you like to see if we wanted to do this again? Students working with the latest in industry software and hardware to actually get all this working and you know It really was an absolute highlight of the students. Entire college experience. They were blown away. They're on television. You know, it It's just absolutely amazing. And we can't thank you enough for last year's experience. We're very excited to see the potential for doing this again. Zipping through. We have like I said, this is light. Now this is a turnkey solution. There isn't any kind of missing holes or gaps that we can say. How are we going to do that last year? We did. It was incredibly successful. The same people are here to actually put it on again. And Bercow has also agreed to donate. The projector again this year. >> We did ask for They kind of booked on that, but they did say they would give us the one protected and the system. >> Yes, and that by no means out of small projector. That is an incredible contribution from them yet to do this each other. And it was a huge project. I don't I don't want to say how much it cost, but it's it's nothing you want to drop. And we were right on. I don't think, but it's also came up. I know you are up on the roof of the garage. As ideal location we couldn't build it better to do this and we're going to try make even better this year by expanding the focal length making even better bigger. So it's pretty exciting. And there it is right that the public motion Day is born. >> So that was actually from the Barco took this opportunity to really promote their engagement with the college and the city of Sarasota. So they did this article on and on the Web site had video. You can see the same video that we just seen was on their website as well. So city of Sarasota to get a quite a bit of publicity to them. Yes, absolutely. >> And I think that's just going to the site More of the students and the experience led again by me of to create the content based on, of course, here input, which is which is huge for the students not to be creating, you know, are in a vacuum. But real clients with real public exposure with real industry events. That is absolutely invaluable. And we're so excited to potentially bring that again >> to the cause. And, you know, a little bit, of course, we're going to show the award-winning crew from late Marilyn and they won't read about themselves. But how bad for You know, we couldn't ask for I'm a better partnership between and you. I mean, real quick tour. I think last year we had a really good response receptiveness to the >> affected parties. The people in the neighborhood, the people in buildings, it's really cool. Watching them. Join us up on the where it is. >> We've already gotten a preliminary approval and support from Bay You know, as long as we continue working with them on the load, unload out issues with the event itself. So already working with next on that. >> Any questions that we can answer for you or yeah, I'm what was the sourcing of the displayed last year morning? Is that something different that this year you want more? You know, collaboration with the community here. >> We always we always a invite and love that experience. Absolutely. And depending on how much time you how much input you can be as simple as just reading e-mail note on a napkin or you can come in and do a full week. >> With something like this done last year. Yes, yeah. I can give a little context last year we left it somewhat open probably can give even more early direction really was that we'd like, you know, the students to really think about their Sarasota IX variance and to potentially incorporate some of our public art collection, which you may have seen some of the were incorporated. So maybe potentially seeing more of that? Absolutely. You know, great and I I can attest that, you know, I came he saw me come speak to the class and they were so excited, you know, to get that real world experience. And I'm sure they would absolutely love to talk to public art committee member 1000 president. Great. Yeah. Great way to connect with them. Yes. idea of playing into the public And of course we you know, open door policy can come in. >> You know, meet with the students, talk to them about their concepts are a nation, the progress we would. We love that. That's that's will be. >> Yeah. We met with them fairly early on. They got a chance to kind of see at work with the students. Explain how to make that Trump play effect really, you know, jump off the give them some initial feedback and it's pretty amazing to see that the progress from that first meeting. So the actual art that ends up on the walls. >> You know, we don't want to content surprises. You with that, right? From that doesn't really fit are you know? So you would have 1000% transparency. Every step of the process to say there would be a public art committee meeting 2 days before that. like so you just like last year we could present the final the >> You can everything him. A quick note, too, that the artists, the students that are doing the work, they're actually creating the content. Those are established artists who are almost professional. Some of them actually are active professionals down. >> As drafting artists like they literally hold up and they can draw, they can and they can do all these different things. 3 D modeling. So they're literally creating content and are just kind of curation are, you know, whatever. So they're actually doing this stuff. Yeah. Is there any sort of it? >> During this thing or that? it's the it's the work that that they loved that show. like inspiring people, something they are actually right. I love that idea. Stay with the picture of the everybody. production. But I think here I think that's a fantastic idea, Yeah, yeah. know, last year there was that the Ringling table and that was very nice. And so maybe we could. >> Make sure that all the students will attend and then public celebrities, you know, last year, thanks to you and to your exposure to the partnership that we had. >> You know, you can't you can't buy that kind of experience for college student to have their work shown like that and to bring something potentially new, toughest Fridays. I thought it was just absolute. Went all the way around. So we had a ball. And the questions that we can is you want to say anything at. Last year? did you all see you know, I think. We started this because we wanted the students to have this kind of opportunity to work with this kind of technology that they don't necessarily have access to normally and then also to work with real It's amazing what happens when you bring a client into the classroom kind of level of professionalism, expectation champs, very, very And they realize that what they're doing is professional and, you know, I the transformation is is I think a very visible from when they first start the class to the very end. You you know, we just love working with the City of Sarasota and was a just excellent partner coming into the classroom, talking about the things that she would like to see given critique and feedback so that the experience was wonderful for them. Your input would not be super sending its that is the education. They're going to talk to clients. They're going to, you know, respond to feedback. And so that's a huge component. And we welcome that every step of the way >> Or call they were they were really eager for some feedback. And I just kept thinking. >> Wow, Haha. >> The timeline from now until >> They will start working right away. Absolutely. Yes. School starts in about half 6 days. So we're going write off and hopefully if if this is something you want to do again, then, you know, they're going to be so excited because last year there are so jealous this other students that were rising up you've got to do that. So yeah, we kick it off right away and we would bring you and your discussion in your convenience and start immediately. >> Just a little quick shout out to Adam Kelly just had a very successful July 3rd Projection event which carry on obviously know about. But that was very well executed and will receive. We're very lucky to them. Thank you it such a pleasure to see it on the side of the south. The library. It was really. And just the faces, the curiosity of all age groups. And I noticed that 2 at this Fresh Fridays event last year. It. I don't notice it was curious that was It was it could stop you in your tracks. But you could also just fine with it dance and enjoy your drink, you know, says it all those things. It was each side has a little different. You know, there's a very adorable manatee that would float around say that a big hit. Never seen a manatee before 9 to Sarasota. this really like stick figure public. yeah. It was delightful. What they bring to the table continually sounds us their creativity and we just like to the line them up and see where they go. You know, and with medium for community. >> Yeah, yeah. of having the art local their cities, heart. >> Featured somehow green light to this still. >> Exactly. And we're just so thankful you guys giving us the opportunity even continue to explore this with us. So exciting. You know, another reason it's very special is because >> as creatives and the line of works, that we do the lines of work that we do. A lot of our stuff kind of goes. I caught out into the void, you know, as an architect, maybe your work. You get to see the building really. A lot of my stuff is a sound designer. was just kind of goes out there in disappearance of these 2 to create digital content. Sure it might exist online and some have or whatever. But a lot of COVID. This is like, no, it's real. It's here that are practical limitations and practical opportunities in a real-world environment. And so for them to see that hands on concrete and look over a railing, there's real people responding million our peoples. Yeah, you know, seeing which gives the Familia, you know, we talk to your Yeah. >> I think that action items that were left more questions there. Discussion. You know, ready to take action we'll see how going to freeze this. Let's call to vote. And November fresh Fridays Projection Mapping in partnership with Green College Department of Design. And we're all. >> I would like to hear >> you know, I'll make second you is. So you're making the motion. I didn't to you. So okay. All in favor. Unanimously Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you very much. someone we're so honored to be here. Thank you for your vote. let's get that. We time much of her time. Yeah, they live. Thank you. just swapping both over here. A little bit of that for the next item here. Okay. moving on to Spirit of Sarasota postcard project in partnership with Sarasota, Bradenton International Airport. >> Call for artists. Yes, it like go ahead and call them and let Klosterman. They say good to the Dias from a Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. And again, I'll give a brief introduction and then. We'll see if this works be sitting over here. May have to move back so yeah, city has been really I'm interested in working with the It's a great opportunity for public are and exposure to thousands and thousands of people interact with the airport daily. So we met with recently to start talking some ideas and this one came up as a great opportunity to provide opportunities to variety of different types of local that might not be, you know, have a lot of opportunities to participate in the public art project. So with that, we came up with an idea to do the a spirit of Sarasota postcard project the total project Budget from the public art program would be $5,000 with the the airport funding the actual printing of the postcards the little bit of a the the project would be launched in spring 2027 as a collectible postcard series with artwork created by local artists. That is inspired by Sarasota's historic tradition promoting city landmarks in arts. As I said before, this would support local artists with paid commissions and great exposure, just the exposure, but also a paid commission highlighting Sarasota as an arts and cultural destination, renew the historic postcard tradition and build community pride. I'm encouraging seasonal collect ability and strengthen our collaboration with these are city airport in tourism partners. I'm a little historical context. Some of these images are most of these images are provided by the Sarasota County, Historic Resources Center Center. Thank you and actually, I spoke a little bit with Heather and turned out. They just did a whole great kind highlighting all the Sarasota postcards on especially in the Mid 20th Century. It was a big, a part of our tourism industry and the way that local participated in that often featuring scenic coastlines architectures circus legacy, performing and wildlife so for this proposal, we would open the call for and fall, which would ultimately result in for Sarasota area artists being selected to receive $1000 stipend. The selection pill would include city staff, sir. So the airport arts partners and community stakeholders, and then, you know, have to work through the timeline. I want to give us a little bit options where we present the finalists either at the November, the February Public Art Committee for in the spring are worthless, reflects sarasota's creative identity and sense of place. We do make sure that there's no commercial aspects to it. that is going to be specified in the Kyle and then the artwork would be need to be formatted for postcard printing. We've also discussed creating a dis play. One of our city buildings are in the airport of, you know, larger prince of the art work as well as featuring the artist's on the city website and the airport so that and also on the back of the Beach Post card. So the recipient can learn more already talked about some of these the outreach for both the call and the picking up a postcard itself would be done through the public art program. And this an airport channels. And then we've also start talking a little bit with visit Sarasota about potentially also locating them at visitor center. For a initial this pun So sure she has a few things to add. It would be a quarterly release schedules a spring summer fall winter. Each quarter would feature a new artist and a new design. It start with the smaller per in a 500 postcards. But just waiting to how popular it is and then increasing that run if needed and each postcard would include credit to the artist of the public art program, the Sarasota Airport, and then additional information about the artist. I think I've already pretty much set on this. So I'll just turn it over if you want to add anything. I think you guys back to partner for the airport. We definitely want to create that sense of place. >> A little bit stronger. And with such strong art around here really liked it. Airport. So starting small, I've been working this year, of course, just to figure out how we can get moving on it, then we'll get and better as time comes. But for time being space budget concerns the to be best opportunity right now. appreciate it. >> As a side note here, forgot to mention that this painting you see here is actually called Spirit of Sarasota by Asa Cassidy, who was a Sarasota artists in the the late 1920's. And so this is kind of an iconic painting that I believe hung at City Hall at some point is that that's the story, at But know I recently learned that Sarasota County, maybe and yes is County History Center this painting. So there may be some kind of a cool I definitely see this time. His IQ campaign. So as travelers, local and as visitors coming to the airport. >> As a chance take or not take one, you know, even if it's just something little >> These are the real may lable Postcards. going working on trying to have it set where they can actually stand in claim and >> Years. And that's minutes. That's That's really great idea. I hope that works. >> so the you know, be covered by airport and it is. And we do those 500 and need more with that. know that print and more. Where is that? With 500? I figured it would take a little bit of time a moment and build >> Is it Sarah said and didn't say they will put in there. Mister said loss of the end for a vote. So with that being said, we might need That number. Yeah. >> And we do think it it will catch on and potentially be something that you know will especially as you get later in, you know. >> People will be looking for it. It's a cool. Yeah. Series. Start. Something that can be lasting foundation Vargas access and 10, 20 years from now. Yeah, then you're like that. There. >> Right? I mean, look, we're looking at these postcards from. >> 80 years ago. You know, it's going in the painting is awesome. Yeah. Ever seen that. Isn't this something? Got to get the accurate. always that boutique feel. And I think poster just dispersed. >> We have I don't think you of that. Number one, I don't want to interrupt by sir and ask questions. with these postcards be for free or they would >> And Sara, you mentioned that there. They would public art information from the yeah. Yeah. So like the cure coach or color? Exactly. Yeah. That's probably the main And then with like a couple sentences about the and potentially to may linked directly to the project website. We haven't quite. And then we is even internally at the airport are making a landing page and the website project. >> Where and their which sent us a and you c
