JULY 1, 2019
CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by Trustee
OPEN SESSION Smollen at 5:30 p.m. in the Educational Services Center located at 101 W.
Cochran Avenue, Simi Valley, CA 93065.
PRESENT Board Members: Scott Blough, Kareem Jubran and Dawn Smollen
Staff Members: Sean Goldman, Assistant Superintendent of Student Support

CLOSED SESSION The Board adjourned to closed session at 5:30 p.m. to conduct the following:
3.1. CONFIDENTIAL STUDENT MATTERS: The Board of Education will meet
in closed session to consider a recommendation on confidential student
matters (student case #7; Resolution #40-18/19) per California Education
Codes 48916, 49073-49079; Expulsion
CLOSED SESSION Trustee Smollen adjourned the closed session
ADJOURNMENT
RECONVENE The Board reconvened for open session. Trustee Smollen reported the
OPEN SESSION following action(s) taken in closed session:
STUDENT MSC, Blough/Jubran, (3/0/2), The Board approved the recommendation
MATTERS (3.1.) of the stipulated agreement (expulsion), Student #07, Resolution #40-18/19.

policy, Education Code Section 35144 and Government Code Section 54956. NOTICE: The School District
