The Duval County Public Schools will conduct a Community Meeting to discuss upcoming

school consolidations with R. L. Brown Gifted & Talented Academy and Long Branch

Elementary Schools. The meeting will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 5:30p.m. at

Matthew W. Gilbert located at 1424 Franklin Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206 in the

Auditorium.

The meeting purpose:

• To discuss upcoming school consolidations for R. L. Brown Gifted & Talented Academy

and Long Branch Elementary Schools.

Any person who anticipates an appeal of a decision made by the Duval County School Board

with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, or who may decide to appeal such

decision, will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made. This record will

need to include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
