CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:03 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL: Vice Chair Michelle Wallace-Chin Member Commissioner Avila-Vazquez Member Rachel Amoroso. Member Jean Armstrong Member Terri Ellis Member Cassie Landron Member Manny Rodriguez Present: 7 - Chair Jodi Pena-Castaldi Member Sylvia Hayes Member Lillian Mendez Excused: 3 - Member Jahaira DelgadoAbsent: 1 - 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES & AGENDA: A. Minutes of March 19, 2024 Motion by Commissioner Avila-Vazquez, seconded by Member Armstrong, to approve the AHAC minutes of March 19, 2024. The motion carried unanimously. 4. PRESENTATIONS/AWARDS/REPORTS: None. 5. PUBLIC FORUM: Time permitted, public comments shall be limited to items on the agenda and shall not exceed two minutes. Please be courteous and respectful of the views of others. Personal attacks on Committee/Board members, City staff or members of the public are not allowed and will be ruled out of order by the Chair. April 16, 2024Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Minutes 6. OLD BUSINESS: None. 7. NEW BUSINESS: A. (d) Reservation of Infrastructure Capacity Ms. Entwistle gave a presentation on infrastructure capacity as it pertains to pipe and sewer. Infrastructure maps regarding water and sewer were displayed and discussed by Ms. Briggs. Further discussion occurred regarding infrastructure, affordable housing, and possible affordable housing sites. There was no vote made for the Reservation of Infrastructure Capacity strategy. 8. STAFF COMMENTS: Mr. Jones stated that staff had approximately ten (10) applicants from the Housing Fair. Mr. Hoppa provided Members with the 2024 HUD Income Limits and Rent Limits for SHIP and HHRP Programs. 9. BOARD/COMMITTEE MEMBERS COMMENTS: Member Landron provided a synopsis of last month's Housing Fair and affordable housing. It's anticipated that next year's Housing Fair would be on Saturday, April 5, 2025 in DeLand at the Sanborn Center. Member Armstrong said the Housing Fair was very good. Commissioner Avila-Vazquez was inquiring about a town hall meeting for Edgewater Condominiums at the Lake Shore Community Center regarding City programs. Member Amoroso said a town hall meeting for Edgewater Condominiums would be best during the beginning of the year when they have there annual meeting. Between Edgewater and Lakeside Condominiums there are a total of 552 residents. Member Elllis inquired about the lien on the housing program(s).
