Consent Agenda Subject 7.04 Approve Amendment of Firm's Agreement for Building Code Inspection Services on a Continuing Basis - Project Number N/A (Operations) Meeting Aug 1, 2024 - Regular School Board Meeting Type Action (Consent) Recommended Action Approve the amendment of firm's agreement for building code inspection services on a continuing basis. Goals Fiscal and Operational Responsibility DESCRIPTION : Universal Engineering Sciences, LLC is currently under contract to provide Building Code Inspection Services for miscellaneous projects on a continuing basis. As a result of the recent transfer of all its operations to a new entity, Universal Engineering Sciences, LLC has officially changed their name and requests that their agreement for the referenced services be amended to reflect the legal name of UES Professional Solutions, LLC. Amendment of the referenced agreement will allow payments to be issued in the firm's legal name. GAP ANALYSIS : The transfer of operations to a new entity, UES Professional Solutions, LLC, requires that any existing contracts between the district and Universal Engineering Services be recharacterized to account for this ownership change. PREVIOUS OUTCOMES: The Board has agreed, in the past, to the assignment of contracts when firms have either been acquired or gone through any type of name change. These reassignments have not had a negative impact for the district. EXPECTED OUTCOMES: This contract reassignment will change the agreements between parties to correctly reflect the new entity and will reflect the correct contracting parties going forward. New agreements going forward, if any, will be issued only to UES Professional Solutions, LLC. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the amendment of the firm's agreement for Building Code Inspection Services as presented by UES Professional Solutions, LLC. Consent Agenda Subject 7.08 Approve Resolution 24-02 for Impact Fee Fund Disbursement from The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Construction of the New Plant City Career Center (Operations) Meeting Aug 1, 2024 - Regular School Board Meeting Type Action (Consent) Recommended Action Approve Resolution 24-02 for Impact Fee Fund Disbursement from The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners for Construction of the New Plant City Career Center. DESCRIPTION : To support the growing student population in Hillsborough County, the School Board of Hillsborough County is in the process of constructing a new 9-12 High School Career Center with 900 proposed student stations, and a scheduled 2025-2026 school year opening. The new high school/career center will assist in absorbing high school students from the northeast/Plan City County area. This project is reflected in the School Board’s 2023-2024 Final Educational Facilities Plan. The Plant City Career Center will be located at 1690 E. Park Road, Plant City, Florida. The district is requesting a disbursement of impact fees of $29,755,805. The project cost is based upon the State of Florida, Department of Education Student Station Cost Factor per the project’s opening date. The cost per high school student station is $40,393 x 900 which equals a total project cost of $36,353,700. As of June 20, 2024, the School District has collected proportionate share mitigation payments of $6,597,895 to construct 163 high school student stations. This amount has been deducted from the overall impact fee disbursement request noted above. Any additional payments made thereafter will be deducted and returned to Hillsborough County as part of existing accounting practices to prevent the double payment for the same improvement. GAP ANALYSIS : The impact fee disbursements are requested from Hillsborough County. The new Plant City Career Center will support the continuing growth within the Northeast/Plant City Hillsborough County. PREVIOUS OUTCOMES: When requests are made by the School District, Hillsborough County has disbursed the funds. EXPECTED OUTCOMES: Hillsborough County will disburse the impact fee funds for the new Plant City Career Center as these funds become available.
