All matters listed under Consent Calendar are considered to be routine in nature and may be enacted by one motion approving the recommendation listed on the Agenda. One or more items may be removed from the Consent Calendar so that said item(s) may be discussed and considered individually by the City Council/Successor Agency, if a motion to remove the item(s) is approved by an affirmative vote of a majority of the members of the City Council/Successor Agency. SECOND READING OF ORDINANCE NO. 18-956 REPEALING CHAPTER 5.36 (MASSAGE ESTABLISHMENTS) OF TITLE 5 (BUSINESS REGULATION AND LICENSES) AND ADDING SECTION 10.50.210 (MASSAGE REGULATIONS) TO CHAPTER 10.50 (STANDARDS FOR SPECIFIC LAND USES AND ACTIVITIES) OF ARTICLE 4 (REGULATIONS FOR SPECIFIC LAND USE ACTIVITIES) OF TITLE 10 (ZONING), AND AMENDING SECTIONS 10.132.140 (“M” DEFINITIONS) AND 10.132.170 (“P” DEFINITIONS) OF CHAPTER 10.132 DEFINITIONS OF TITLE 10 (ZONING) OF THE LA PUENTE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH REGULATIONS FOR MASSAGE ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE CITY, AND NOTICE OF EXEMPTION REGARDING SAME

It is recommended that the City Council: (1) adopt Ordinance No. 18-956, an Ordinance of the City Council of the City of La Puente repealing chapter 5.36 (Massage Establishments) of Title 5 (Business Regulation and Licenses) and adding section 10.50.210 (Massage Regulations) to Chapter 10.50 (Standards for Specific Land Uses and Activities) of Article 4 (Regulations for Specific Land Use Activities) of Title 10 (Zoning), and amending Sections 10.132.140 (“M” Definitions) and 10.132.170 (“P” Definitions) of chapter 10.132 Definitions of Title 10 (Zoning) of the La Puente Municipal Code to establish regulations for massage establishments in the city; and (2) approve and adopt the Notice of Exemption.

CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE UNITED WAY “EVERYONE IN” CAMPAIGN TO HELP END HOMELESSNESS

It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 18-5418 supporting the United Way “Everyone In” campaign to help end homelessness.

CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTIONS PERTAINING TO THE CITY’S GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2018

It is recommended that the City Council: (1) adopt Resolution No. 18-5419 calling for the holding of a general municipal election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018; (2) adopt Resolution No. 18-5420 requesting that the County of Los Angeles consolidate the general municipal election with the Statewide general election; and (3) adopt Resolution No. 18-5421 adopting regulations for candidates for elective office pertaining to candidates statements.
