TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION Type Discussion, Presentation Attorney Johnathan Ferguson, Executive Director of the Legal Department, will provide an overview of Florida Sunshine Law. The Citizen Advisory Committee and its representatives are subject to the Florida Sunshine Law (Chapter 286, Florida Statutes); the Florida Public Records Act (Chapter 119, Florida Statutes); and the Ethics Code (Chapter 112, Florida Statutes); and all other applicable state laws and regulations and School Board policies. All Committee meetings shall be open to the public at all times and shall be subject to public participation requirements as required by law. Minutes of each meeting shall be maintained and recorded. TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION Type Action Recommended Action Nominations for a Chair will be received and voted upon. Nominations for a Vice Chair will be received and voted upon. A Resolution of the School Board establishing the Citizen Advisory Committee, its membership, responsibilities and duties, procedures for the conduct of meetings, a sunset date, and effective date for other purposes, is attached. As stated in the Resolution adopted by the School Board on June 11, 2019, during the Committee's initial meeting, the Committee shall select a Chair and Vice Chair from its membership to preside over and conduct meetings. The Chair and Vice Chair shall be selected by a majority vote of the Committee representatives. Each year, after the first year, the Committee shall select a Chair and Vice Chair my a majority vote of the Committee representatives. ADJOURNMENT Type Procedural Per the Board adopted Resolution, the Committee shall meet as necessary and as determined by the Committee in order to fulfill its duties and responsibilities. It is anticipated that the Committee will not need to meet more than two or three times per fiscal year in order to fulfill its duties and responsibilities.
