A component of rule 6A-1.0955 was to have districts update data sharing requirements to conform with the new rule which includes how data is handled, shared, and disposed. Over the past few months, the Florida Privacy Alliance prepared a common data sharing agreement that will be used by potentially 30+ districts in the state of Florida. The agreement was released on April the 7th. The agreement has been reviewed by the board attorney and is being submitted for approval by the Lake County School Board. This data sharing agreement will be sent to all applications that contain student data (free or paid applications), and the local agreement will be sent to all other applications. NEW BUSINESS-CONSENT AGENDA-HUMAN RESOURCE ITEMS Subject 9.01 Notification of Human Resources Action Items – will be available by the close of business on Wednesday prior to the meeting. (Chad Farnsworth, Assistant Superintendent Human Resources) Meeting Apr 24, 2023 - Lake County Schools - Regular School Board Meeting-Revised-4 Type Action (Consent) BACKGROUND and RATIONALE: All human resources action items shall be presented to the School Board for approval according to established policies and procedures. Approval is needed for management of employment records and data according to established policies and procedures. (School Board Policy 6.10, 6.11, 6.111, 6.17, and F.S. 1012.23) This Agenda item supports Strategic Goal #1- Student Success, and Goal #2-Retention & Recruitment. It is beneficial to the students because high performing and highly qualified employees are essential for delivering and supporting the mission of the School Board. ALTERNATIVES : Approve the Human Resources Action Items as presented. Not approve the Human Resources Action Items as presented. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that the Board approve the Human Resources Action Items as presented. FISCAL IMPACT: Without approval of Human Resources Action Items by the School Board, there would be no official documentation of School Board appointments, reappointments, transfers, resignations, and leaves for administrative, professional/managerial, instructional and non-instructional employees. The financial impact to the School District is absorbed within school, department, and grant budgets. Changes in employment status occur on a continual basis with little or no budgetary impact, since terminations/leaves result in budgeted positions being vacant and appointments/promotions result in budgeted positions being filled.
