Goals Academic Excellence Supportive Organizational Culture DESCRIPTION : Mr. Harold Corrigan was a World War II veteran, serving as a special services officer. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin as a physical education major and went on to supervise elementary physical education programs. He had a strong belief in the value of family and community and the importance of looking out for one another. When he passed in 2005, his estate was bequeathed to the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, South Shore Council because Mr. Corrigan believed in education and the importance of teachers who nurture students and he felt that Community Foundation held those same beliefs. The PBIS room at Eisenhower was designed to be a student incentive room that would motivate students and foster a positive culture at Eisenhower. The room includes game consoles, table games, karaoke, and a snack bar for students to enjoy as they earn the time to participate in the activities inside the room. Richard Rios, with the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, South Shore Council, was instrumental in recognizing the value of the PBIS room at Eisenhower and facilitating the partnership between the school and the Community Foundation. Mr. Rios recognized this project as one that would honor the wishes of Mr. Corrigan that his fund be one that makes a difference in the lives of people. Without the donation of $35,000, the PBIS room would not be possible and the students and staff of Eisenhower Middle School are so appreciative of Mr. Rios for making this room a reality.
