TOPICS Subject 3.02 Information and Instructional Technology Five Year Plan (Duane Weeks, Executive Director of Technology and Information Services) Meeting Feb 18, 2021 - Lake County Schools - School Board Workshop-REVISED Type Information, Discussion BACKGROUND and RATIONALE: Lake County Schools has made tremendous strides in regard to the acquisition and utilization of technology in order to support the district’s common instructional mission. In the 2017-18 School Year, Information and Instructional Technology developed a five-year plan to provide equitable access to technology for all students. The COVID-19 Pandemic had a profound impact on the five-year plan that had been developed. As a result, Information and Instructional Technology rebooted the plan to adapt to the current state of technology and instruction in Lake County Schools. Attached is the new Information and Instructional Technology Roadmap which is designed to outline the vision for how technology will support the operational and instructional mission of Lake County Schools. This plan satisfies the requirement that is described in Board Policy 7540 and states the following: “Annually, the Superintendent or designee shall develop a written Comprehensive Technology Plan (CTP), recommend the CTP to the Board for approval, and upon approval, implement the CTP. Annually the Superintendent shall require the review of the implementation of the current CTP, update that plan as need be, and recommend the updated plan for approval by the Board. The CTP will address the need for District technology resources for all the District’s instructional, operational, and business functions.” DATA SOURCE: This item was prepared and facilitated by Executive Director of Technology and Information Services, Duane Weeks .
