CALL TO ORDER Meeting was called to order by Chair Nguyen at 6:02 p.m. 2. FLAG SALUTE 3. ROLL CALL Attendance Attendee Name Present Biruh Abaneh, Commissioner Alazander Cruz Bermudez, Commissioner Ashleen Bhandal, Commissioner Diana Diakova, Commissioner Logan Gill, Commissioner Anna Nguyen, Commissioner Jacob Ortega , Commissioner Benedict Pham, Commissioner Maya Sanchez, Commissioner Thanmay Sarath, Commissioner Absent Gianna Garcia, Commissioner 4. SECRETARY'S REPORT The meeting agenda and packet was posted on September 5, 2025. 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Approval of the Minutes from August 25, 2025 Special Meeting of the Youth Commission Motion to approve the minutes was made by Commissioner Sarath. Commissioner Diakova seconded. Motion passed 10-0-0. 6. INTRODUCTIONS None. 7. PUBLIC COMMENT ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA None. 8. NEW BUSINESS 1. Treasurer's Report for the Youth Commission as of September 1, 2025 Treasurer Abaneh delivered the report about the current balances. Staff liaison Henig explained what each budget represented (i.e., Commission,
September 8, 2025 | 6:00 PM Page 2 of 2 Youth Commission Minutes Intergenerational, OpportuniTEEN, etc.). Per the commission bylaws, the next treasurer report will be delivered in December. 2. Discussion of FY26 Youth Commission Work Plan The Commission reviewed its current work plan and decided to establish the following committees: • Intergenerational Dance Decorations and Food: Abaneh, Diakova, Nguyen, Ortega • Intergenerational Dance Activities and Music Selection: Gill, Pham, Bhandal, Bermudez • Apparel Design: Bhandal and Sanchez • Apparel Clothing Options: Abaneh and Sarath Each of the committees will meet and provide an update at the next regular meeting in October. It was also discussed that the Commission will brainstorm potential legislative issues to study at the October meeting. 9. OLD BUSINESS None. 10. STAFF/COMMISSION COMMENTS None. 11.
