ITEMS OF BUSINESS Directions for Life Update – Elijah Mitchell Case worker Elijah Mitchell provided a detailed report on his ongoing efforts to assist individuals and shared the current statistics on homelessness in Treasure Island and Gulfport. Board members engaged in a discussion, seeking additional information about Elijah's daily activities, and offering support, including the possibility of providing blankets. The conversation also addressed concerns raised about business complaints related to trespassing issues. Vice Chair Carol Braddy extended an invitation to Elijah, requesting his participation as a speaker at the upcoming Meet and Greet event. Elijah accepted the invitation graciously. 5. LIFT BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ REPORTS Treasurer Mark Bate presented the financial report, providing a detailed overview of the LIFT budget for the year 2024 and the statement of activity for 2023. During the discussion, Board Member Mark Bate highlighted the importance of securing a grant or sponsorship to help with costs. 7. NEXT LIFT MEETING The proposed new date and time for the regular LIFT meeting, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 9:30 a.m., were discussed and will be communicated to all members. 8. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 10:56 a.m.
