“Carol channels her decades of experience in education into delivering for West Michigan’s students. While Republicans propose unprecedented school cuts, she’s fought back to ensure classrooms have the resources they need. She’s secured improvements for students at every age across Michigan—expanded quality early childhood education, guaranteed school meals, and new in-school health clinics. As your State Senator, she’ll fight for our students like any teacher would. Families are all feeling the pain as housing, grocery, and healthcare costs skyrocket.”
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?verbatim · tap to open
“I am most passionate about education policy. I spent more than 20 years as an educator, and what I learned in that work guides my work in the State legislature. Quality education is the foundation to a successful future, at any age. I am also working on legislation to protect victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. A third personal area of interest is Freedom to Read legislation standing up for First amendment rights while protecting public libraries from attacks by outside groups.”
