A former White House teleprompter operator, Gabriel Perez, has been ordered to pay $172,000 in penalties and disgorgement after placing illegal bets on the content of President Trump’s speeches. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) ruled that Perez must forfeit $107,539.02 in trading profits and pay an additional civil penalty for the violations.
