• •The Recording Activity Notification (RAN) service provides email alerts when documents are recorded in the Citrus County Official Records.
• •The Clerk of Court is legally required to record any document meeting statutory requirements, even if the document is suspected to be fraudulent.
• •The notification service does not prevent fraudulent documents from being recorded.
• •Documents cannot be removed from official records without a court order.
• •The Clerk, Property Appraiser, and Tax Collector offices lack the legal authority to reverse fraudulent activity on behalf of citizens.
• •Suspected fraud should be reported to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office or an attorney.
• •All 67 Florida Clerks of Court and Comptrollers provide free property monitoring services.
• •The service is provided without warranty, and the Clerk is not liable for damages resulting from its use.
