New 224-foot artificial reef planned for Gulf of Mexico

Okaloosa County and the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau have partnered to sink a 224-foot ship to create a new artificial reef. The project was officially approved by the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners on June 16, with the deployment scheduled for fall 2026.
