For the record. And if you're a city resident and if you remember the district. So Catherine. Her books for me are purple, came from a time. Take Those that lives you know, use this is. >> Good morning. Well, I don't know that it will take all that long. >> So I own Srq Med spa. My name is Catherine Hermes. I real estate in Sarasota. I live downtown. I'm an active member of the Church of The Redeemer. I sing in the choir. I'm a very active member of the community. And in fact, you may have seen my videos. I am a lot of the impetus that got the parking. >> Changed moving and I continue to work on that. >> I was interviewed by your marketing company and I was Women's Health Awareness Month, which was awesome. And I explained to her that I was trying to work on a social media campaign for all of downtown. And she said that's not sort of in our round. That's the thing that that did would have to look at consider and approve if you wanted to do it to the marketing company. So I thought I would present to you today on a marketing campaign that I'm doing to try and rebuild the. Rather negative. If you're not following on social media, how annoyed people are because of the parking, it's really created a very negative mood. People consider sarasota's very aggressive and they are. So as we we are working on that by moving that into the police division, I think that's going to start to get that ball moving. But the the problem with the marketing as I see it is that the social media campaign that's out there is not very dynamic. We do not have influencers talking to the people like I went into the carpet store. I went to srq Mets fall, right? I went to this dress shop. This is what I did. This is what I saw of. This is what I love. You guys need to come here and check it out. That's what social media influencers do. And I've reached out to 2 were specific to Sarasota who have agreed that they would love to work and create a campaign where they went from restaurants and stores too to comment and push it to their audiences, not overly expensive. They were talking $4500 per business to do their reels in to push it out. In addition, I found an online program called up which anybody who goes in to any retail store shows this loopy app and if you're participating merchant, you put a checkmark essentially a virtual check mark on there will be and each month to retailers when given like a $100 gift certificate or whatever. And each time you get checkmarks, it enters you into this raffle to win different gift certificates to different shops. So these social media influencers would be promoting. I'm doing a little bit. I'm following Looby. I'm going to all the shops downtown, even if they do. But they just walked in and they get one if they buy for every $50 to get an extra check, mark or something, >> so I have this campaign that I think would be really cool to do. I basically created an outline did it's very interactive and it's designed to get people downtown just coming back. So I'm proposing this. I don't know how your system works. I don't know if we can do it where the shop and didn't pay some. But I got sort of the structure and I'd be happy to work with anybody who work with me to get this design. Thank you for time. So second thing I wanted to discuss version of the other 3 minutes because it said 3 minutes for farmers market in 3 minutes. And we did just if you want to. Typically would have to confirm fact that they had this is specifically to the farmers market. We're just going to take it now. Trump says U.S.. Okay. I just as a person who is like at the corner of Lebanon, Maine, I'm there every week for the farmers market. So there's a really simple change that would be more shop specific I often considered right now the stalls are set up with the facts of the business of the stall facing the shop. It's we've got women closed anyway. If we flip it so that the facts of each stall face each other and the stalls pain point outwards. Then the businesses on both sides of that would be showcased. So that was one thought. I will tell you that spoken with Brian a lot at Madison's. The bathrooms. People want to use our bathrooms constantly. They don't want They just want my bathroom. And I I it's very difficult for me. I have a I'm not a public bathroom. Bathrooms is a topic which I think you guys need to sort of put on your agenda because I'm not a public bathroom. So as someone who's downtown every single Saturday for the Farmers market and sees how it impacts my business, those are 2 simple changes that would really I mean, the people come in and they have a lot of attitude. They come in and they demand my bathroom and this is public place and I'm not a public place. I am not. And they are great. So it's it's Brian is like he Brian, actually city as a line item for how much toilet paper he does throw on a Saturday when he's closed. Those are just 2 issues I just wanted to put in front of you about the farmers market. Thank you. Thank you so much. Presentations reports. Yes. But sports, the Sarasota, yes. Good morning. Members of the board. Thank you for allowing me to be here Innings create chief transportation planner and I'm here to request a letter of support for a grant application. >> The city is submitting for the main street resilience, storm, water, infrastructure project the application is for the Protect Grant, which I do have a post. It note of what that stands for because it's pretty long. It's promoting resilient operations for transformative, efficient and cost-saving transportation. So that's a federal discretionary grant and the project is a basically underground storm water pipe in drainage for Main Street from Gulfstream Avenue to school Avenue. And this is a part of the overall Main Street project. But the grant is specifically for the storm. Water improvements. And I'd be happy to answer any questions. I think before that I'm sorry that we are applying for 5 million dollar grant and we're requesting 4 million with a 1 million dollar match. So any comments questions? Look? Well, I think anything that storm water at the time when we're beginning to flood, which in places we never did. >> It's like. Wonderful little late, but great. >> Yeah, I would just say What do you need from us and exact just a letter supporting the grant application? Yes. >> Is this something that Julie will for you or there? There's a coffee in your agenda packet. Well, the U.S.. >> So question, how does not interact or the actual entire project because confused to what's happening with the mainstream projects right now. >> Yes, so this is the underground portion of that. So one of the key goals of the Main street project is to upgrade aging infrastructure. And this is part of aging infrastructure. It's just below surface Certainly understood. But it has attracted entire process because you have this trucks. >> The streetscape so the other works being considered to be on the underground or is just down the road for right now because I know that the overall project is seemingly. Being discussed right now. >> So the grant is specifically for the underground portion of the project. It is an I'm requesting anything for the above ground just because that hasn't really been worked out yet. >> with that, I guess that's the question. >> So we would be seeking additional grant funding for the above ground in the future. When we have a firmer understanding of the overall design. >> From practical standpoint, then are they going with a coincide or it? Let's let's pretend that you got the grant today. Would you go ahead and start street work. >> Now and then. It would not. >> And interfere with the streetscape if and when. >> I'm sorry. When that happens. >> Yes, so we would do this story if we got the grant and we were awarded the grant, we would do the storm water treatments first and we then seek additional construction funding for the above surface treatments so they wouldn't go together the under ground Storm water, drainage design would come first and we would do patchwork were resurfacing. >> What is the length of the project if it if it is? So the limits of the the stormwater project is from Gulfstream. >> How long would it take? How long would it take? Okay. From a word we have about 4 years to construct. >> is the time duration of the actual project itself? The full time line. that depends on construction funding. >> But the 60% design >> scheduled to be complete in August of 2027. That's always a way. >> So how much more money do we need to get this project done? >> So the cost estimates have been completed yet because we're still in but substantial. More than 4 Million. Yes. Haha. Do we talk about if we support or Correct? So if you are in support of it, what you would be motion in is it struck the chair to sign the letter of support. >> So I make a motion for the chair to sign West. On I I I Okay. Unfinished business. This is really >> Yes, so. >> I think we Yeah. So since so since we do have members of the farmers market here and this is wanes, the chairs item. What I would like to do is perhaps bring up the farmers market just to have them introduce themselves, brief explanation and then have a motion to carry to the next meeting when the chair can here. So it's But to at least let the farmers market introduce themselves and at if there are any questions from the border address. The board says they are here today. Can can they just? >> I like to just talk about that for a second I'd like to have them introduce themselves and tell us what they do. But I don't want to get into what anything that we would we would want to get into. So absolute just a quick and action. What theirs? Plans are something like that. But even then says that's that may depend what, where Wayne's concerns are agree. So. >> This congratulations. Do I heard the We worked very it. Number one of the country and Florida. Yes, yes, yes. Their credible. Yeah. you. Can you talk about that when he yourselves? Yes, we will talk a little bit about it. Tracy, our marketing money or so. First of all, when going much on the new executive director of the Farmers Market. I would like to thank you for the chance to discuss the status of forms, Mike and how we strengthen it, particularly during the slower summer months. I know that was that conversation you had on your last meeting. And appreciate out of your concerns. I want to say that this year the might get a look at it. $40,000 to advertising and marketing. That has been the largest marketing budget in our history. It reflects our commitment increase in the I'm driving down some foot traffic since May when it started we focus on improving the experience. We expand the children's Berman to every I'm or sitting gathers pace is for people to stay longer and do their foot and continue exploring downtown businesses. We have about a new vendor scything that was unlike concern. I'm like and his base is on the footprint. We had it on the an vendors on the past 2 months. And we're looking to have a more. We also have to seasonal farmers common this time next week. We have one. So next week. And going on out into more informants. Plus, a nation of 46, new vendors and the next few months. >> We're trying to be intentional with what we got to the market. We have to be this thing channel, the vendors that we brand. So even more people and a purpose to come to the market. Not just a there. We have talked about bringing more events during the slower months. The Chinese budget, our goal is simple. More recent support people to come downtown stay longer and throughout entire footprint. We want some sort of farmers market to remain an economic and community asset 50 to 2 weeks a year. And I welcome to what you need to work to get on that with the deed. So I appreciate your invitation. Thank you. >> Hi, good morning. My name is Tracey Freeman on the marketing director for the Farmers Market Yes, so congratulations are in This wasn't a nationwide contest that began on set. Timber first And through September, 30th. So we worked really hard gathering votes. We changed our commercial on ABC 7 to ask people to vote for us. We've been on ABC 7 once a month promoting the competition. And we just want to say thank you. Also for the that really helped us push forward with the competition. So really excited to spread the word and have some really great celebration events coming up. I'm Christine North from board chair, sir. So farmers market. So I currently have the board seat for 20 for this year. >> I'm on the board for next year, but we do our chair appointments at the end each year for the next year. Also 20 year veteran of the downtown Sarasota farmers Market I've been on was on the founding board of the nonprofit. I've served on the board for many years and then stepped away. Just ran my business and built 5, 0, separately and step back in 15 months ago. So I've helped usher and all the new leadership that you see before you. I divided one position and the 3 which includes administration Calvin is a needy in Tracy, bringing on communications director. So we're having some a little bit of a revival of sorts getting back to our roots and as well as pushing us forward. >> Thank Thank again. Thank you. And thank Make a motion to. >> So yes to the motion would be to continue the item until November 3rd meeting. >> And so I make a motion to a second on Say Aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. >> That's our as an emergency. That front. street will take some fun here. But there's we have 5 fire contain the fire. OK, black Friday, small shop Saturday. >> Yes, oh, yeah. Let me just give you an update on I want I just met next mark. >> Along with Darcy from the eye was get that from DA. Burton says he is in any way. we've agreed that we're all going to work together and make weekend event. We have all the plans in order, an an ad buy. In contributions from some of the people. And that's Denmark. And set of vendors there helping us get a Santa Claus there. So it's going to be a really great weekend and we're in order for this week to be able send that information to all the merchants so that their where that is happening and that they can sign up with special deals for the weekend and that will be promoting it. In addition we've secured supported that Chamber of Commerce and they're going to be promoting it. Also for us. So we're were there. The press. Thank you. Okay. So. >> nothing to talk about their no, no. Just just the an update and we'll have another update as we get closer to next month. Well, I'm sure we'll have a more details. So the last beyond next month on the gender as well. >> A hot topic, marketing communications services. So I'll be giving an update on that. So we can all of us to continue to meet regarding the conversation about marketing. I think the good news is since our last Director Schimmer, thank you for bring up the website again. I think now we have control that. >> I received control of it on September 18th. It was transferred to me. >> Okay. Thank you, Julie. I think we probably should have a larger conversation about what we want to do in marketing. You I think generally there is concern amongst the board about the direction and the value proposition. So I think let's leave it open for weather has any comments. >> If you want me to I was told by my comments to the end, I know that. chair Ruben's not here to join us today to also I'm trying on thoughts. Julie did send I think 3 different actions that we can take as a board. What we want to do with the we're we're calm. Here. option a option B option C option is to continue Option B, paws and your options. See this continuing reallocate. I has been really fruitful and his endeavors and working Quest. I this 2, 4, Go all that information. option C continue to allocate. I believe did it is not in the business of being a social media, a player. To be social to be to have a really. Cure rate and have a successful campaign. It's an involvement of every day having someone that's committed to it. Not saying it's for a 3rd party, but as a did as an entity, you have to be involved with social media every day to see the analytics to study the analytics. board should not be putting a $60,000 a month a year into and to social media campaign. You're not going to drive social media campaign. You're not going to drive awareness in my personal opinion. I want to say. Without going to do it to death option 2 cities to discontinue reallocate the funds to something that's more appropriate to the did into the business owners. Any other comments? Yeah. >> thanks for that. And information. I've been thinking a lot about and I initially of be was concerned about the quality of what we're doing putting out there. And many ways it sounded to me is beginning to sound like a city house organ. Rather than what maybe would might have envisioned a while ago. So is concerned about the direction of it and the quality of the product. However, after giving that some thought I I further and thought just. That I'd a group I don't think we need to have the kind of mark that kind of marketing. I know initially there was a big drive a few years ago from a another commission really thought was really important that we do marketing. I don't know that people even understand what we're getting is. And I agree Mister Sugar that it takes a lot of intense involvement. We're bored even though we're put off putting it to someone else to actually deliver it. You have to be involved. And I don't think that's a place that we need to be. don't really think that we need to be marketing at all. >> OK, Eileen? Well, it's definitely of real tough and they realize how much it was that move will have sugar last time certain talking about. And it know that really. So it's silly for me, too. Chime in. It. But I do think we spend a lot of money over the years. We've played various things we have little. We have fines may that shows you the board was and put it, people stole It. Yeah. Really. totally agree that we should leave it. Someone else and we should a lot of money to spend if we not getting out. >> Yeah, I Mike and you know, I Kush our chairman winds and here I presume is an echo sentiment. But nonetheless, I think here's my thoughts for the mess. I think there's 2 variables on to bring up my concern about not doing any marketing is we do have a social media presence and we do have a working presence. And we now have a Web site that we control. We have to put that into place that it is 5 final weekend is leaving disarray, the doing it anymore. Let's leave it. How does whatever happens happens? So that's concern. Number one, concern over too, as although we may disagree about the results of the social media aspect. I'm I'm I'm certain that there was a benefit because we went and I certainly don't people at these events. They need to understand what the board is and what we do and educate them that maybe we didn't do it correctly. But I still think that that's an important So so to pieces clean up the mess that we've created, so to speak, where it has to be clean and item 2 is education so fine. Now I will agree with option C only reallocate the funds to things that are to clean up our downtown, put them in places where we're here for. I've been a proponent, says I came on the board about one I don't care about anything else really. I want the downtown streets weekly know what the right with plans to be amazing. That's my mission for my time on the board. If we can reallocate those funds to that, I will not put up a fight. But if it's going to be add another frivolous thing that we come up going to be frustrated. So are you saying that we do frivolous all the frivolous things? yeah, know so. But at least in my humble opinion >> so so that's really important to me. But think we to leave it in a good place at minimal. So. I will defer to the board. >> So I'm just a follow-up. you know, our our first and foremost obligations are to the commercial honor to taxes for. And I think that is where we need to focus on. And again, I'm 100%. agree with you. I think as a board what we're doing now, he's reading more to scape of downtown. And I think the $60,000 that have will I don't believe as a board since you've been on not. I don't think we're doing anything every that we're doing is to really and maintain. I mean, the series, Julie, I mean, the pictures this morning. And if you go down you see the beautiful lights now that are implemented, that just gorgeous, the the light poles paint a new black. It's just again. And I think we are making a difference. I think we're going to see now we're going to do with the landscape will just be remarkable. just dollar into a beautiful landscape like Miami does. It's just it's going to be phenomenal. I'm so happy to hear that. I think well, it to make a motion now. I think that because will make most of that we do option C. >> Is that as we just continue reallocate for the current market in before make the motion. How do we want to finish up? Because if they leave today, I think we have 30 that think they believe they have to date. We just can't. I think there's a 30 day. >> It's no. It's like now. So our numbers, the contract that that there is that because the fiscal year ended on September 30th, there's no fiscal year that was approved started October onsaid there is nothing in place right now. There's no contract. There is there's no perch. There's a contract. There's no purchase to shoot, kill or a month. You can. what what what what's the person just want? Make sure that you don't just walk away today. >> they do. And if they do so and what like the Facebook pages are? Cleaner update we're going that they're going to I'm just going to disable them yeah, they're disabled. Yeah. They're going to be Everything's just going to be disabled. motion motion of these. I see. Yeah. On paper I I a lip stain. You you cannot okay. Whole lot. Say pass is 30 to one. Yes, I knew it was in the past that, I have a little to no more professional So question >> Do we want just fresh Friday since we do support that the city supports it and separately an tournament separately, fish fries. They have their own website and their own. >> It's a good would be part of the great but it would be part of the grant. Perfect. I just but it should. But it's not cross reference to me or anyplace Same thing if there was to be any advertising for the light up the night wore for the Black Friday. It would have to. We didn't include that. It would have to be in place allocation. For example. We yeah, OK, got it. And that vendor with that Haftar. That was it. Whatever marketing materials they would have to fully market everything. Well. >> As as it happens. Next, Mike is doing Black Friday for us and they have their own. So covering on that when went okay. But any other communications you wanted to get out, anything else would not. Cross reference. >> All right. OK for the fun stuff to do business let's get very excited about that. OK, what I hear. >> as you all recall. >> a year maybe a little less little more. >> We prepare a vendor. The vendor started. And then request. So we need to report you're a vendor. So what I've done is I've taken that scope and knowing that you all want to do some additional beautification Ys along Main Street, I've included. >> That as part of the initial scope as work order number one into the proposals. So any vendor that we get understand what we're looking for a quote, unquote demonstration area. It doesn't find the board to what other that Thunder proposes. But it least would give a clearer idea here of price make Avenger, you know, do the work to come up with concepts and proposals in that type of stuff. That could then additionally modified by this board prior to issuing that purchase order for that work order number one. So. In essence, we would bid out the regular maintenance contract. And look for work. Order number one as part of one. So one vendor is doing both. So that's what you have before you. >> So they system station area. That they're going to basically price and give us real scope. >> Correct. In addition to your regular maintenance. >> Contract. So which is the $80,000, correct? Which is all of that. So in essence, when they install something, they're also maintain as part of the ongoing contract. >> Okay. So especially motions with move to approve the dead last communication service framework is presented including proposed record number one demonstration and staff pursue the city compared Association process. I like that something to the Schofield report. For the UN backed Julie. I think that was a great by post in the search area. >> However, I would like to add to the to the vendor. A standard that time as an example we have see. So we as a board know, a nice pace that it's going to be, you know, what planter is going to be like to be so not only this board for the future boards down the Dow futures will understand, hey, this is planned what's going to look like. there's no miscommunication. Everyone. We're florists here, but we need to understand what it will look like. How a large grow. So in end of example, propose one at 14. 48 Main Street on that particular bed. What will look like and and then also planters on Main Street and Palm Avenue, there's 4 planters. What would they look like? So they put at school, I think be very helpful for us in support and also for future bortz them out. >> Yes, I don't have that material for whatever reason. But but I just maintenance is always been a problem for us and on the existing Ys. Landscaping, where is all dried out and there's nothing that says it to be what happens when seasons change, you know, like in your yard with how quickly all that kind of really maintaining and then an upper level way, not just wait until things die and their dead. Let's we replace them to know what their plan is to go right behind the seasons change. And to keep things. Water without having watering system. >> So >> think I think Ron is really on something really good at record. Sugar. I think. With this, too, I think of like not only 100 times but propose us scenarios. Base case, you know, aggressive case that. >> While the case, yes, have the funds to do something special and then really need to make the special. And that means this it happens. It gets in and it's beautiful that it What could they also do rendering for us? And I was just going to say this, the scope does include schematics. Yeah. So yeah. >> Yeah. Schematics for actual rendering rendering an attic. Is the I like and yeah, rendering of what I would like. yeah, it's the additional I can be great to market. Motion. Yes, yes. So emotion here. So the question you >> Mary did, does the board want to see the revised scope at the next meeting or do you want me to just revise the scope and proceed? >> Please revise couple proceed. Yeah. That the great like to see if they could come next month and presentation for us. >> says it to be me at least with the renderings. No, no, we're going to we're going to this out. I'm going to revise discusses good to go for the procurement. Yes. Has to take a take down. >> Men. So, you know, that can render is a good thing because reading will preclude a lot of people who maybe not do the job. that is his residence. >> Okay. So the motion would be to revise scope as discussed in proceed the procurement. Some of it. >> For I. So yes, unfortunately, yeah, we probably looking at a couple months, but it will be worth it end. Yeah, I it. Well. will be worth it in the end. I promise. >> Which that some statues to that school maybe joking. >> too much. But I mean, I think of you. That's Haha. >> OK, and there year budget I given different. Look at how I'm presenting your your budget. Say you've got your one page like you normally have your approved budget. What's in europeo? What you've expended to date? You're available funding for line category. The second page is budget categories and what you've spent to date month. And then on the final page is what has encumbered, meaning what the board has approved. We'll see. All of public ground grants have been uncovered, meaning purchase orders. They're allocated or what is been paid. You know, has been paid out to to those services. So we'll keep a running total each month, the but those are so you'll see those. The next one on your budget is your purchase order for your downtown holiday decorations. So that is the exact same decorations as we had last year with the exception of we are making the change from the Garland meeting, those tinsel right Garland's to the actual Evergreen Style Garden again with the the spritzes in the trees and holiday tree in 5 points. Park. Total purchase. Order for the did come so 2 78,144, we had allocated 117,000. That does include the from the city of 75. So motion would be to approve the purchase order for $78,144. Motion like to close with push to purchase the person or of the amount 78.0. 44. >> That is that. That's what we need. Okay. motion said that we need somebody to motion. I saw move. Eileen. Favor Aye. But what happened to the remaining funds can reallocate city beautification? Absolutely case that's up to them. much because I look at the budget. I know we have more cash for occasion. Police making. Well, you have remember the EU have. >> Remember, you put money away >> the. >> Let me see where it is. You've It's. Just where is 255 for streetscape and placemaking and then you have 75 for your 1400 block. So altogether, there you have over 300,000, we didn't specifically pick and you didn't know exactly what you want. Plus, you have the 75 for, quote, unquote, land structure. All right. So you didn't want to push you have 82,000 contingency love that. So. You have flexibility there and we did that on purpose. Said he didn't in case that with other beautification. She wanted to do like your sculpture for the record that was a >> Like a statue of you know, I never said I said >> The 7 killed. >> In just on the more likely than not. The holiday decor will be up the first week in November. >> Just say, you know they think. So since one budget. Is there time to talk about crazy ideas or does that come later? >> It's board. Okay. Discussion is mission. It's let's keep going. General board matters. That's it. That's crazy 8 years. That's what we're here read. You are. Comments anyone. you know, yes, it's small comment is interesting play. This board started the main thing we wanted was clean and safe. I've been saying that to actually going to back to it because we we did for a while. he's really yeah. So I actually can I just add to that? I I agree with doing that. I think that we have the city hasn't serious responsibility in that area that I Director's comments. Yes, I just want to just mention about the parking requirements and I don't know any information on. >> That the on new city managers, positions and she wrote about the reorganization. I was just because it really took in all of the things that we've been talking about. Making it not just reorganizing it or, you know, shuffling. Personnel, but rather, including words like no customer face seeing. Welcoming the kinds of things that would end a re looking at how what, how we deliver parking services. So was so comprehensive that it was really so exciting to see that change. It's a big shift. >> Yeah, and I anticipate probably inviting parking in December. I think November's 2 quick after the change, But I will bring them to the December meeting that will give them a month under their belt under the new direction 2% back to the board says you have every quarter. But I thought November was just too soon. Yeah. So I totally agree with you. >> I think the city manager and I think so her staff are thinking about things that ever been. >> In whole different light I think could be very exciting time. I have to commissioner caught up there. She was right my side. It is as we were questioning and asking the city look at what they were doing. So appreciate that. It was it was a big shift and great to see here. Yeah, absolutely. It's a. So I have to his 1, 1, is just an idea that it's very early on what the new COVID tension, the port. >> But the other want to get some more action by you that sure, way we can can talk commission about. We have to as the board represent our commercial constituents. And I think we need to push for requirements for landlords keep their facades and push for updating us on because Romney and Chris and I leave you guys spend a lot of money making your place is beautiful and welcoming and nice. A lot of other landlords do not. And I think that is unacceptable. And it's driving me. Absolutely crazy. We spend all this money to keep place clean and tidy put more 05:00PM. But we still have a response with take care of their own facades. >> I totally gers there. We brought this up a while And I more related to empty buildings. Yes, that's right. Into 2 O that's good There is no right now there's no city ordinance. covers vacancy. The yeah. The property owner's responsibility to maintain an empty building forever how long it is. And there have been some on Main Street that have been in it for a long time. If there's no proof that within 3 months that they're actively trying to up, they should be fined, know, where it hurts, really because created by money cover that we don't have an ordinance to stop. Chairperson. We may need to go to the commission talking about. Yeah, because we are 2 beautiful the city to like this. It's not accept. No, it's real. I actually gave the city staff some pictures of other cities that use over where their empty windows are this? You it's just a lot we can do. Also is the day to get yes, So I think that's something we need to look ourselves in and say, hey, you know, fix aboard consensus to talk to deal with rip and see if we can have an ongoing present. That idea. >> I think we should have that is something we need to put before. The commission asked him to consider. But that isn't item. >> Is there for consensus to put it on an agenda. >> I move that we work to put really landlord responsibility for >> Yeah, I just need consensus on the board to put it on an agenda. Yes, that's fine. Okay. Okay. Yes. Okay. Second item which is going absolutely insane. But there will be for second. This one wasn't. So this was this was this was the thing about a lot clean. >> This other one is kind of crazy I'm thinking a lot about parks and the downtown. want to think about figure out how along with the city figure out how we can support the city and acquiring space for Park. >> Somewhere the core. Where could be really something that is get for And there's a lot of interesting vacant properties that I think are going to on the market that if we can financially support, may be funding alone or something of that sort. I know we're going away from the mission. sounds great. But just I love idea because I think that could be really welcome look rose very Rosemary, that park. But they the part that's beautiful. Why not just what it was? Yeah, I mean, that really helps I'm just trying to think 10 years down the line. How much, how, how, how it can be preserved and keep it fun and interesting and city has algorithm like, you know, X percent of the city has to be. Open space parks. I don't know. That would need to change. I don't know if it needs changing. Maybe it's there. We just haven't done it right. So that would be something to dig into and find out of that because or I or a new city manager is very pro parks. and I agree with her and I love green Space Force. Yeah, I mean, and maybe even a may be going too far down the line. Maybe given moment. >> I think for instance, 5 Park. It's really a new life. It's not designed as a functional park. We need. Maybe we find out where we talk about thinking about how to repurpose that for a real functioning part that people can use and enjoy it because I can see my kids running around that park. >> No, you may recall that. I mentioned activating that part of the summer. The amazing and I think that's something we could pursue I think that's that's a tremendous idea. Yeah, we may not be Danny Meyer, but we can debate the park and make it fun games that's a good start. that's a good start. And also within the because parks are wonderful. But there is a national cause to maintain the park. >> And that really falls on the city of County. But if we have the 4 points falls under our our zone that we see if we can highlight right, maybe put a plan forward, maybe at the for next summer. So I think this is a great topic which end up. And how do we create ideas how to make that part active it? Yeah, I mean, especially Sundays. >> Now that Sunday as well, at least for the time being Sundays or free parking again to one to bring everybody back have some nice music things for the kids to do an ice cream stand some coffee kiosks. I mean, in my head, I can see it. I think I have beautiful little Add one more thing. Maybe if that's okay with everyone. >> Able to consider about how we talk to expert, but how to make the park for front row. It's not a functional. The design. This work is what? Because there's no real space open uses and it's very it's big. It's pretty beautiful weather and we'll bring you parks. We just can't move Okay. Yeah. It's Jared. >> Able to bring end next month. I will see if Bill Miller's know that plant. We're in the part that the the did. >> Not good. many years ago because it done. But did that everything for we did. I thought arts in the park. So we had like Valley, a person for me, right? You know, and they would come and do it, promote themselves. But by giving concert and so on but then it turned out that the platform says So you could become platform that that is a good idea. And the idea would be to have food trucks and on Sunday bring want to listen come today really special it could. Yeah, that is what see like greatest all. That's Chris >> All right. Anything any other board comments? Okay. Final General Board Matters. Project We had mentioned before the downtown tree lights >> we've completed Main from Gulfstream all the way up until Orange. We have done State Street. We are getting ready to do. We've done 5 points part. We're getting ready now to Lemon AF. Central and then after those sudden will do the remainder of Palm. So that'll be the bulk of downtown. >> The >> Leah posts we have There are about 90% done >> completed in the downtown center rep you there yet people are really commenting on the on the posts they look so Nice. yeah, really. That's really noticed and appreciate it. Yeah. And and like I said in phone calls lights playing but dirt, someone thought my God, sidewalk, they they talked about the. 1505 but they still got a lot look fabulous. And it was such a I think said you did it yourself. talking to yourself. Yeah. like that. >> Just a reminder. If you know anybody what's to serve on the board, too, contact me so that they can get their application in just a sugar. If you are going to renew, you got to get your application in. That is done. The first meeting in December. So we've got to get that going items for agenda. You will your first report on your fresh The October that report will be there. It's tentatively scheduled for the update on disc is quarterly report. We'll have the farmers market. I will see if I can have park and rec come. We will talk >> the ordinance change. >> that the vice chair had. >> He and >> I think that's all I have. Was there any other items for next month? >> Before we go, just like to say, was that first Fridays for bit this weekend? Big crowd. It was. It was it Yeah, it was. It was packed on Main Street was really fun I took some girls and took pictures. But the boat. We have got a little safer areas. He was so That's awesome. And that's that's all I have right? I like it was this time. How does feel? 3, one of Yeah. She saw the Pledge of Allegiance. And to which stands. I shun da da indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Okay. Could conduct we may disagree, but we will be respectful to one another. And we will direct comments, tissues. Julie Change the order. >> We do not have any changes to the order of the day. I will just make note that our chair, unfortunately had an and will not be in attendance this morning. So we do have our vice leaving the meeting. >> Thank Approval of minutes. It's for the workshop meeting held on September first 2026. a slow mover On favor. Yeah, I I. The minutes of the regular meeting held this summer first with 20 sacks. So moved all in favor. Aye. Okay. Good. Public input >> We do If just read that sure, the public. >> citizens are welcome to address the board on any topic, a request to speak form is required for anyone wishing to speak and must be submitted stuff part addressing the board. The forms are looking in the back of the room for general comments and topics, not on the agenda, the board. the appreciate your input. However, the board is not a lot to answer questions or comment during the period the board will have an opportunity to address general comments later in the median director comments for comments on items on today's agenda. Public input will be taken prior to the board's discussion and decision on that item again or answer questions responder this time each speaker will be limited to 3 minutes and we'll ask that when your call to state your name. Yes, I knew it was in the past that, I have a little to no more professional So question >> Do we want just fresh Friday since we do support that the city supports it and sep
