The World Health Organization and partners are sending 70,000 doses of the Ervebo vaccine to Congo to address the current Ebola outbreak. While the vaccine is licensed for a different strain of the virus, it will be used for front-line health workers and a clinical trial to determine its effectiveness against the current Bundibugyo virus strain.
