Camarillo man scammed out of $84,000 in security software impersonation scheme

A 70-year-old Camarillo resident was defrauded of $84,000 by an individual posing as a representative of McAfee Security. The victim reported the incident to police in May 2026 after receiving a phone call from an unknown number.
