With the recent appointment of new employees to the City of North Lauderdale, several volunteer positions within the North Lauderdale Recreation Foundation must be updated to reflect current staffing. The Foundation’s volunteer roles are traditionally filled by designated City staff to support administrative, legal, and financial functions. As a result of personnel changes, the following individuals will assume the respective Foundation positions previously held by their predecessors: • Foundation Attorney: Michelle Pamies replacing Samuel S. Goren • Foundation Clerk: Susan Slattery replacing Elizabeth Garcia-Beckford • Chief Financial Officer: Sophia Henderson replacing Kelly Schwartz These updates ensure continuity of operations and maintain the Foundation’s proper reporting with the State of Florida. 2. The North Lauderdale Recreation Foundation routinely partners with the City of North Lauderdale to support community programs, youth initiatives, and departmental activities. As part of this partnership, certain expenses are initially paid by the City and later reimbursed by the Foundation to ensure proper accounting and transparency. For the current reconciliation period, the City incurred several expenditures directly related to Foundation-supported activities. These costs include required administrative services, professional development for Parks and Recreation staff, and scholarship assistance for a Fire Explorer participant pursuing career-related training. To accurately align expenses with the appropriate funding source, the Foundation will reimburse the City a total of $15,156.95, which reflects the following: Foundation Audit and Tax Documents – $9,750.00: Some of these were approved in prior years but checks not issued - Annual audit and tax preparation services are essential for maintaining the Foundation’s compliance with state and federal reporting

requirements. These services ensure the Foundation remains in good standing and continues to operate with financial transparency. Parks and Recreation Travel to State Conference – $3,910.00 - Professional development opportunities, including attendance at state conferences. The Foundation has routinely support’s these training initiatives to enhance staff skills and promote best practices. Fire Explorer Scholarship – Justin Zuniga (EMT Program) – $1,496.95 - (fire portion of funding - The Foundation provides scholarship assistance to North Lauderdale Fire Explorers seeking career-advancing training. This reimbursement covers the approved expenses for Justin Zuniga to participate in an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, supporting workforce development and youth engagement in public safety careers. These reimbursements ensure accurate financial reconciliation between the City and the Foundation, upholding transparent fiscal practices, and continue the Foundation’s mission of supporting Parks and Recreation programs that benefit the North Lauderdale community. 3. The North Lauderdale Recreation Foundations mission is to support City of North Lauderdale Recreation Programs through financial contributions. In 2026, the Foundation is looking at a total donation of $42,500.00 to enhance recreational and cultural opportunities as follows: Parks & Recreation Department – Teen Club ($12,500) – for the Teen Club continual support and volunteering at numerous City and Departmental events. This funding will support the Teen Club’s yearly activities and programs, providing opportunities for local teens to engage in recreational, educational, and social development programs. These initiatives help promote a safe, inclusive, and active environment for teens in the community. July 4th, 2026 Fireworks Celebration ($30,000) - This portion of the donation will support the City’s Independence Day event, marking the Nation’s 250th birthday.
