Rep. McIver introduces bill to codify congressional oversight of ICE

Representative LaMonica McIver has introduced legislation intended to permanently establish the right of members of Congress to conduct oversight of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities. The proposal follows a 2023 incident at an immigration detention center in New Jersey that led to criminal charges against the representative.
