>> Now >> it works, OK? All Call the meeting to order at 11. 33 because we spent a minute looking at Mike's, okay, every one is here except Daniel. He has an excused absence. He's on vacation. Do I need to call the roll? I usually do that, OK, OK, I'm gonna call the roll. Pamela. Andrew residents. Rosemary. All right. So we have for the 5 here in the 5th as an excused absence, our code of conduct. We may disagree, but we will be respectful to one another. We will direct all comments to issues. Next up on the agenda is approval of minutes. They were sent out to us a few days ago by Jake. Did anyone have any changes? I have no changes. I don't see any okay. And that case, I believe that we can approve them by acclamation. OK? So no changes. The minutes are approved by acclamation. We don't need to vote. Next. New business. Discussion of advisory boards. >> So when one of her recent meetings we had discussed advisory boards like Development Review, the Development Review Committee potentially changing a seat to require somebody with a disability on the board. So I spoke with my director about this. And, you know, we think it's a good idea, but there's already quite a bit of difficulty filling the seats as is. So what was recommended is for board members to attend meetings at like the Development Review Committee, the prep for the Parks and rec board public comments. And then if we feel that that isn't really helping very well, then we can revisit it. But for the time being, we wanted to kind of try that preliminary step before we look into making big changes. >> All right. Where do we get the meetings and times for the Park and rec board and the Development Review Board. >> You can sign up for email subscriptions on our website and you can also if you check on our website and meetings. You can actually see all of the upcoming meetings and you'll be able to attend that way. So if you go in Sarasota, FL DOT Gov, you can scroll down to where it says meetings, agendas, videos and then there's a whole list of upcoming events currently all the way out to September 24th. Okay. >> And I was going to discuss, I thought when I saw that it was may be discussing our particular board. as I believe, both Daniel and I will term out at the end of this year. And I'm not sure what happens next. We stay here till we get replaced. Or do we just go? And the board just hangs out here with like 3 people. You can continue to attend until you're replaced. Okay. But you know excuse me, your tenure is complete. So if you would like to, you know that you don't want to show you no longer have to okay. But if you would like to take attendant continue in your seat until you are replacing than you may do that, he's one of the things I was thinking of doing was since Tanya Levin ir both terming out at the same time and is we can both continue until our seats are filled. I was going to turn chairmanship over to Daniel because he's been around a long time and he knows probably more than And I think I'd like him to get his feet wet and sharing okay. Yeah. And we can have a vote on that too. Just to make sure that came time comes. We're all aligned on who we want to be the chair and Willamette. You make a note to put that on the next agenda. it comes to attendance of these an advisory boards. >> For us. To a 10. Do you think we should Let each other know who's going to tend if anyone's going to 10. So we don't. When be bad if we had 2 people there. But it might make it better if we had made sure we had somebody there. I don't think it matters because they think it's recorded right? And they're they're the meetings are online like right now. You could go up in the Web and watch me talk. >> I don't know why you'd want to what you could. >> Well, the only reason being if we wanted to make a suggestion, we couldn't do that. If we went there. >> Well, that's true. But actually what you are suggesting that you suggesting something different so you're suggesting we should make sure there's at least one person each of these meetings at the park and Recs meeting at development as opposed to narrowing it to just one person, which is what I thought you meant. No, I don't think we should narrow that. I think, okay. Make sure someone's going to be there. If we think it's of importance. Okay. That's probably something we could do a telephone round, Robin or an email round. Robin on. >> And let people know I'm planning to attend. Yeah. Just as trying to get somewhere. >> the agendas will also be posted on the meetings page that I So you can review the agenda to make sure it's something that you're interested in attending yeah. >> All right. So it will just all make mental notes that if we do attend any of these boards, we will notify everybody else that we're doing. okay. And now old business. One question you have a question going back to that. >> The chairman committee chairs. Yeah, our committee chairs selected in this city. You vote. They We voted for me. And you still get my vote. >> Look at >> Yeah. will put an agenda item on and then the board will nominate who they'd like to be the chair and the vice-chair. And you will vote. You know, your usual yeas and Approved. >> And I think at the time that we did last time, Daniel and I were the the only surviving and everyone else was getting off. So we've been on the longest and I was voted. The chair and Daniel is the vice chair. But it was sort of an agreement between the 2 of us. Yeah, I'll do it now. I'll do it OK? So that's why I'm thinking that Daniel, it Adam, be able to get his feet wet with it. That's just a thought. Okay. It it's not like it's hard to learn how do OK? So Annie was it'll be on the agenda next month. And then we can vote. We can nominate. Obviously all dominate, Daniel, but the anybody can nominate anybody, including yourself. Old business, each wheelchair update is it's still broken. >> It is the cost to repair is $2,250 which given that costs take, you know, I can't just pay that without the board's approval, So what happened is there was a dual engine failure the storage area that we put it as we've discussed is insufficient. So plan. The plan currently would be to perform the repairs and then store it here because I'm working with parks and rec to actually have a shelter built for it. Now, it will also connects to the Lido Pool. So the lifeguards will then be able to also take over or reservations. So this will allow for a much larger window of usage while also having a small air-conditioned area. So, you know, if someone overheats and we can, you know, sit him in there, too. Or if a lifeguard even overheats, they can sit in there. So it'll serve the dual purpose of being a safe place for the Ego Rover. Well, expanding usage and who would pay for this new space? The ad, a penny for tax. >> So we have the aide we It's not a huge pool. Okay. We have a pool that we can use for capital improvement projects and some of the ones in the past have been done worthy. The parking the parking lot at the Lido Pavilion. If you park at the accessible spaces, you'll notice there used to be just one crumbling old style ramp that came out. They've have been fully replaced where the sidewalk actually just dips down the whole way across for the ADA parking is so that's one of the projects we did. There doesn't come out of our budget. items. I'd be too big for our budget. Okay. Another one that is beginning is the Arlington Community Center. It's a very it's very heavily used in the have an 88 pool lift. So when I was looking through the transition plan that was working with departments to figure some of these out, there were a lot of access issues, just the path of travel to the So we put believe 70,000 to actually renovate the doorways and the path of travel to the pool. So those are some projects that we did last year that we got approved last year. And so we're looking for future projects. So I think this would be a good one for that And then I'm still working with parks and rec facilities. Utilities to see if there's any other good projects that we can do. So until that is created that new house for the Echo Rove, or does it make sense spend $2000 to repair it? >> Yes, because we can to store it likely camp up in the HR officers put elevator and sticking over there. And then when it's time use it again. >> Bring it out. And we have a way to transported back and forth. Toledo I can have the vendor, drop it off here and work with Parks and rec to get on a trailer brought back out. >> If that is workable, then I don't see a problem with repairing it. we checked on the warranty. It's not it's less than 5 years old, right? And they've done a lot of warranty repairs. So there's not much. >> I don't believe that this one was covered by the warranty. Last we checked. Okay. But injury brought to my attention that the manual does state that it should operate and be stored in conditions that was in. Okay. So I just need to determine how hot that little box actually was getting before it can move forward with pursuing that type of action because in the dead of the day with the light shining on it, I don't know how hot it was getting in there. That's just last thing. We have to figure out how much how much we spend on the Eco rover in terms of non. >> Warranty repairs and stuff like that. >> This will be the first one other than we had a user who accidentally. The power cable when they were using the steer. The companion steering. They actually pulled the power cable with it and it got sheared off because of fell between the wheels. So we did have a repair on that. But I believe was, is that $425 figure we see in maintenance and repairs and we did charge the person no, because it wasn't. It was it was only an accident. Okay. And then that one, it was so expensive because it's not the power cord. It's the whole unit. The power delivery unit. Unfortunately, it's not replaceable power cord because that could introduce I think water getting in for that. So you would advise spending the $2000 to repair it. I think it would be worth I know the commission has also expressed that they would like to keep the car over in service. Okay. Will amendment 3 if it passes in any way impact. >> The on Terry Fund that will be used to build a new house. The >> I don't believe so. Okay. To look into that. I have to look into that. I'm not sure. Okay. Because I know that that's a penny for fund and I don't know. >> If that's off of property tax or not. Okay, question. I need to look into that. Yeah, might want to check that because if amendment 3 passes and >> the polling seems to show show that it's going to which horrible. >> Because it will. And a lot of services that are free. We may have to start charging for the Echo Rover. And remind me again, what is amendment 3 again, that's to get rid of all property taxes in the state of Florida. Property taxes and have everything move 2 feet. Fee for services. The current language would be $150 additional exemption to Homestead. >> And then the year after 2028, it would move to 250 and the amendment has language instructing Florida Senate to come up with a plan not necessarily come up with a plan to remove property tax. So it could get messy. Yeah, I can't make my opinion on that one. I can't voice that. But, you know, it could impact services and it could result in number of other means to reach with that funding. currently a lot of city projects that have been put on hold and after the election because of amendment 3. We don't know if they'll be money in the funds for it. Okay, but that we don't think that will affect right. And I know the board fund is based off all they can Germany. will just to remind and just to remind everybody, the commission did direct the captioning to be taken out of our So that means that this will begin to accrue more so we can actually look into some bigger projects. Okay, you know, like you know, significant equipment for playgrounds are some which I know is aboard interest. It would be nice to have an excess, a completely accessible would we should hurry up and spend our money so we get more of it where they don't want to give us Well, the good thing is a revenue stream is protected. Yes. You just have to flag people over the >> Next on the agenda as is no more questions about the beach wheelchair. We'll move to the website and app. Accessibility update. >> Yes, so our progress is continuing to be made on the website. We're doing largely very well. Now. My reports from site improve are looking good. It is still determining manual testing for the most part, but where pretty solid on that front? And then as far as software, the software side just didn't come from the board's funding. we did procure the Crawford Tex we spoke about in believe the city did procure that. So it is technically 3 programs. There is publisher, Validator and remediate. Publisher and validate or are these really cool automatic tools where you can take your file, drop it into a folder and then it will process it tag the document for accessibility and then let you know if more needs to be done or if it's ready to be posted and it will give you a validation sheet and its software that is used by the DOJ. So it's one that we know is going to be reliable and then remediate is the 3rd component. And that is a software that is like Adobe, that will actually allow you to make those manual corrections that the software could not make. So with these 3 pieces of that software, we'll have a much easier time making or documents accessible, which everyone knows the easier workflow is the easier it is to get people on board. So. Looking good. We've got we've got my 3 hours of training this afternoon. So >> 3 of those software's and software products are compatible with each other. They working to climb. Yes, perfect. Yes. That's why we got because that'll be, you know, it'll be does well on small files. >> once you get more than 15, 20 pages, I think everybody at the city's lot Austin crash trying to do it. There. So we had to figure out something. >> All right. Any questions from the board website and app? Accessibility. If not, we'll move on to response to board member requests right? >> So I'm still working on getting meetings with other departments. You know, there's been a lot up in the air with the new city manager. All that. So we are working on it. The they the county's ADA coordinator does orientation the exact same cadence that Meet IX. So that one's going to be tough. not sure will be able to get with me in. you know, figure something out. We'll see we can do. Maybe we could do a special meeting for that. we hit, you know, a few things to talk about the border. I mean, we've had special meetings before We can do again. And then the risk manager wasn't think the other one that was pretty high up there to meet. We also conflicting meetings up through the New Year. Okay. So once we get into the new year, we will try to get her to come in and talk to us all. But November November meeting the new HR director, Dominique will be coming in and introducing herself, OK? So we're making progress on that front. >> OK, and do we >> This may on the ADA activity update. So stop me if I'm jumping ahead here. But we still have a list of departments who haven't done anything yet and making themselves ADA compatible. >> We are working on getting there. I know with public works. They had a update to fit $250,000 from the state and it will be addressing intersections along MLK and cocoa and not. So so they are. I know. know it's just kocan up in my brain has to say going do >> okay. You put and then my brain is going to say >> Saying that there are no the snow ramp access is at the intersection. They need to just be improved. Okay. Like some of the more like the old style corner ones >> difficult as I'm sure one here knows to navigate. So they're going to just be improving intersections and bringing them up to par. >> Is that coconut? >> I don't believe it's all of them. I think it's set ones on MLK and coconut. I have to double check. Exactly which ones was just made aware that it got approved and that that was the general goal of the project. Are there any intersection I'm sorry, are. >> Those are generally bad. walked up there. Yeah. >> And yet I see you every once in a while running owned curb cuts and things like that are. 2 state thus everything. Yeah, you know, so taking note of that, I want to ask, are there any intersections inside the city of Sarasota? >> That have know accessibility. >> Let me review the because I'm wondering if it makes more sense. >> To keep crappie ones for a while. Sorry, Eric. In order to make sure that we have some that don't have any get some. From what I recall on the transition plan. The >> those 2 were very high on the priority list, OK? Let me out in or next meeting. get back on that. Okay. Yeah. Those are high priority concern not just for people with disabilities but mothers pushing baby carriages and >> that's probably one of the bigger motivators that got the ADA past. Back in 1968. Pictures and said that the click it to fix it. >> Maybe maybe that will move things along a little. You know how many pictures of Florida light and power I've taken of their little holes in the side Juneau, vocal hotel actually put danger tape around it. >> Really? Yeah. Because it's dangerous. No neighbors are still pending. The resolution >> With intersections in the curb cuts and things like that. >> What about intersections? There's a few intersections I can think of where there's a curb cut on the way. The other side is just a curve. Does that make sense? You come to the choir? You go this way. There's a curb cut. If you're going this way. There's no curb cut. Its just occurred. So it's like a curb cut to nowhere so well, the curve. let's let's Kerr put on the other side is no curb So saying only go that way. You can't go that way. >> Yeah. So like the one that comes to mind, I think. It's on the corner where arts and central as boulevard of the arts in places, you know, our I'm talking about. So if you're if you're headed North. On the arts and central side of history. there's a curb cut. If you're headed. South towards downtown you're on the arts and central side of the street. It's just a curve. So you could feasibly Israel and Mike correct? And correct the way I just going and arts and central the way describe it makes sense. Yeah, so you on one side of the sidewalk, you've got a perfectly good curb. Cut. If you're not paying attention, you just gotta go off her. I think there's another on. Coconut and 5th or coconut and forth. It's on. it's I'm not on the construction side of the road. But, you know, if you turn, you get to a point where you've just got to her and you turn left and go down the curb. Cut and then you can keep going. But it's the same principle. You know, if you're paying attention. You're all right off the curb. I just found according to check TP Tate, they list intersections that the Sarasota specified for ramping. I sprayed hillview. Because of a hospital. Title and Ringling. Tuttle and Browning. Total and that he avista total and Hyde Park. And total and Weber. you send that list, Jake, and we can double check it all out with. >> Streets. Yeah, we get because we have our transition plan. right and see if it that that's probably already there. probably were checked. Gpt got it from. >> And if it what I said about those 2 spots make sense on. Yes, it's it's just a one-way curb cut. Basically like some point somebody said to roll off the curb. I don't know. I assume it's because there's power poles, maybe something like that. Yeah, I know. I've one in in a neighborhood. >> Where there's no curb cut because that's where the storm water. They put it right on the corner. yeah, it's a difficult one. And that is also on the transition plan to figure front. >> And I mean, on the one corner, the 2nd quarter, I mentioned there will be new construction there eventually. I know I think, you know, it's a vacant lot right now. I think. And bears that's looks like it's slated to be condos or apartments. so, you know, I assume they're going to tear up the sidewalk. Well. If they're going to do that when they fix it. Why not make sure there's curb cuts going both ways. >> you know, that makes sense. Thank you, Mayor. And then >> When I have had a chance to look over the intersection transition plan and we can revisit this in a little more detail. Otherwise mired on the topping. I can't tell you much about So I don't want to get us stuck on something. I can't okay. Talk about much right now. >> All right. >> It puts has been there because just starting. If you're walking They're doing construction. Southernmost. Like too. Follow the sidewalk. >> And moving then. Sidewalk ends in a curve. >> That's right. It's a sidewalk to know. It yeah. >> I've been counted. They're prone. There's a lot of actually accessibility issues. Iran, Marina Jackson, whole area going from Marine a Jax to go across the bridge. In my wheelchair. There's so much there was no cut to get across to go across the Ringling Bridge. If it's in Marina Jackson, I go down there also with my great grandchildren, grandchildren. There are so many accessibility issues all around that area that I get And everybody has to go where way so that nobody can figure out how to get there Jake, are we allowed to host legislation? We can make recommendations to the commission and we can meet the commission. >> Because one of the things that that I think would make a huge differences whenever they allow that because what's happening at rejects doing a whole construction thing there in the parking lot. Whenever the city engage is anybody in a construction project right into that construction. >> Agreement that everything has to be. >> ADA compliant and whether or not it it was installed by them or not. If it's in the area where they're doing the construction. some kind of legislation like that would help to get the private parties out there and contractors and developers. Yeah. so what I could do is if you wanted to make that recommendation to the I could set up an agenda item might have to see when the next one be able to put that on. Okay. And then maybe could just be board recommendations to commission because they know we also have frame legislation item that we wanted to address. We could bring both of those to the commissioners and just let them know we did take a vote on that. Yeah. If the board would like to vote whether or not want to do that. >> I'm going to make a motion. >> That we proposed 2 pieces of legislation to City Council, one being the removal or >> legislation and regulation frames and the other being making contract with the City of Sarasota subject to ADA client on the finish project and the environs of that project. I need this. I second that motion. There we college. Thank you making recommendations that this all in favor. Aye. Hearing all opposed hearing no It passed unanimously. >> So I'll let you all know when I can get it on the agenda. And probably just e-mail that out to the board. The agenda today. And now that's enough show Okay. >> Next, I'm presuming more board member requests. There's actually a frame was one of them. Vote counts was another that I have 2 more. >> The city hall bathrooms they have once again begun working on them. So I'm still waiting to hear back to see if we could walk through them and see how they're doing. I'm going to follow up again on that after the meeting. And then the other one was just information quickly about fair housing. So I'm not a fair housing expert, but if anyone on the board just curiosity about so there are reasonable accommodations that can also be requested from fair housing from your associations and they can go through the same interactive process as an employee would go through with an 88 request. So they are allowed to ask for medical documentation, especially if your disability is not one that is visible. I'm kind of verify your claims, but then they have to ensure that its reasonable. And so how reason ability is to find would be does it cost you money? Does it cost or does across the board are condo money? Does it cost manual labor from their staff and doesn't meet your needs? This kind of going to be the big things that floor around. So, for instance, if you have a request for reserved parking, even if your board your condo board or H.O.A. doesn't allow for reserved parking, they would need to modify to allow you to have your reserved parking and they cannot charge you for that space. So it's similar to, you know, service dogs in the sense you have a policy, but you have to modify it because it's not going to really put a financial burden Aurelie Rivard them. Another one would delivery of packages to the door instead collection room. That would also be allowed because it's not going to cost the board money and there's going to be no labor on the associations. We have typically to allow that to happen. Because of that. It's very, very difficult to say that allowing door delivery is not reasonable because there have been laws are there have been cases where these both those accommodations have been requested and approved. So they're just some good examples of ones that would typically be Okay. Yeah. We don't allow delivery people in our building. It's a security issue. I would say more than half the people in my building don't lock the door of their units because it's such a secure building. So would be one of those situations where you have to modify the policy allowed. Okay. I've used FHA. >> Many situations. I have a condo association. It does. Not like people with disabilities and do not want to comply at all. So it's always a fight any needs. So if you a J. But I've also had to finally they didn't want to comply. Even though 8 FHA say you have to do this. So I had to use attorney. was this an attorney who is? >> If a chain Ada going that information out actually e-mail it out. I did a lot of research to find him is in Miami. I didn't want to do anybody local. Okay. Those. There's too much conflict of interest if too much inbreeding in Sarasota Bay >> he said on the ADA Board in DC he's very good. Okay. He's very, very good. So I'll put it out in an email. His name and information. I'd appreciate that. Thank you. Thank worth One of line as AJ could make it happen. He made me have a spot overnight, OK? One of access kind the swimming pool. >> I mean, some people may need some sort of lift. What is the prohibitions are rules regarding my understanding is that if you pay for that lift, the condo puts it in, but you have to pay for. I would have to verify that because I know ADA like a public pool we would need. We would need to the left. But I know fair housing is where it gets a little fuzzy And since I'm not an expert on it, I can't give great advice, but I do recall seeing that it's one of those things where you can pay, they can install it. And then when you leave, they can take it out or you can take it out. Kind of similar to believe you can modify your unit to have grab bars right? I think it's kind of a similar yeah. You pay for it. You can do it, but you got to pay for. >> That's that's my understanding. The last case that I saw on that point. >> Okay. Any other board member requests? Not that I have listed. All right. On that case, let's move on to staff report. >> ADA activities update. actually have a couple talk about. Oh, good. So I received a complaint which I've forwarded to the building official about 21, 70 Main street individual who was using it for a dental appointment. >> Has noted that the French entrance has stairs only. So there's no way to get into it. But he did find out that there is a door through a side alley that has now been locked. That is accessible for people in wheelchairs or with walkers. So since that Kate has effectively barred people with disabilities from entering that building. I have reached out to the building official for him to talk to them about it. Tina potentially just haven't opened during business hours to keep that security, but also to allow people to use the facility. So it'll have a resolution there yet. The other one I have is a resident from Castle Center, Martin has complained that the business has begun to lock their gate to gate swung on orange, which is always open and one on lemon. What used to always be open. But they've chosen to lock the gate on Lemon, which was a route that a significant number of the individuals who live there used to get to and from Publix and other places. And that includes people with walkers, wheelchairs, power, wheelchairs, and the decision to lock the gate seems to have been somewhat arbitrary, according to the complaint. So I spoke with the property manager who said it was out of their hands of course, on having forsman provisions. But usually if you talk to people there more than understanding. So I've also left messages with the property management company as well as the Diocese of Venice, which actually owns the land. See if we can try to get that gate opened during business hours for those people because I was advised one of the individuals uses an electric wheelchair and he actually got because it required such a different way to travel, which is genuinely a health issue. So I'm hoping that they will comply and open that otherwise those board members may be looking to file discrimination points are not board members. Those residents will be looking forward. 2, not looking forward to the meantime, tied, you know, that saying excited looking toward. Yes, thank you. Looking And then that's it from ADA updates. >> All right. Moving on to financial report so. >> Our previous fund balance was $35,108.20. We are now up to $39,843 and $0.98. And if you look on the provided ledger, you'll see that our actuals under operational budget of the very top. We only expected to have 20,000 in revenue, but we've received 26,000 in revenue roughly. So we are making more than expected. And then our money going out is also pretty much in line with what is expected from what I can see here. We have. We where where we show that we're at 117.3 4% usage on contractual services. We actually do still have $5,000 left in that. What has to happen is we put in a p o for that amount has contracted services like caption and come out. They're built to that PEO. But what happened here is there was a bill put in that was not attached to the P So it's the funds from the same area. But it just kind of calculated funny in the ledger. So we are still doing well on that front. It just on fish. moment transfer if if we have savings in that particular account to transfer it into our general. >> that's actually what is considered fund balance >> and the next one we can see, there's our discretionary contractual services that's like our it services. then maintenance and repairs. We budget 10,000 for there's a auto capture maintenance that happens every other year. I just put all of our budgets. Justin, just so it's there. And then there's an extra 1500 that we budget just for. Eco rover issues. So it's good that we have that extra 10,000 put in there because we do have that other amount. We have to pay. But from those repairs, we've only used $425. So that plus the recently authorized repair will bring us to around. 2600 and $75 repair? Funding put it. We're still looking pretty good in terms of funding. And that will actually even with that expenditure, we still have more money in the bank. That we did from our last meeting. >> should probably put something on the agenda for next meeting to discuss priorities for spending it because I know the one thing we've discussed. Is a fully accessible playground, which I think is important to have in Sarasota. But we might want to discuss other projects and put them in priority order. If there are other projects at the board would like to consider. Yeah, because I know fully like him. Fully accessible playground. Like the ones we've discussed. Yes, star going to be a lot more than like that would kind of be a future facing like they have a Tampa. Tampa has a beautiful Okay, Park's and rec to come in. Talk to us about which ones they're doing next. >> And maybe we could use part of our budget to do part of their renovation and get them some extra money. You know, here's We'll pay for the acessible swing. >> We more than help more than yeah, we would be more than happy to help Park's and rec to move along on their ADA compliance. Next on the agenda, comments from the public. Yeah, there aren't any. I I still cannot believe that that we don't get a lot of public here because there are a lot of disabled people. And I just don't understand why they don't show up here. And I'm presuming that click to fix. Now that we have an 88 section, we don't get that many in there either. So it is it. Are there no disabled people in the city of Sarasota besides the 4 of us. >> Well, it's I mean, our board isn't the only one that gets few people in attendance. Yeah, you know, even our time is a very friendly time. Yeah. So I'm not really sure. I know. Click to fix. I don't see a ton of specifically accessibility issues. >> Maybe we should send. We have those brochures that we which are quite nice. I think maybe we should send them and put them in the lobbies of various facilities. Like to the Friendship Center or >> in the La La Very good for the library or in the library. And yeah, yeah, yeah, do that. Yeah. That would that would be a good. >> Because because it just seems to me I'm sure there are people who have issues out there who have disabilities and they just don't know where to turn to. >> And rather than get lawyer, maybe they can come here and we could help. As a transplanted New Yorker. I believe like given right to complain. >> I don't know where all these people are. That's right. A stir on on the other coast. Yes, there on in most New Yorkers don't come west Did that and stay >> That being that? Is there any topic that board members would like to comment or discuss over and above what we've already done. If >> Now I hear you to print for sure is that we can put them in the library vestibules. >> Yeah, that be fine. >> And just try and get ABA stuff into the libraries themselves. >> Maybe if we sent it to these various entities with a cover letter that said, here's a bunch of our brochures. Please put them in your lobby and please encourage your residents to attend. Are semi monthly meetings every 2 months. Yeah. What's every 2 months that semi bi-monthly like Bi-monthly bi-monthly meetings. It. >> You gotta be One of the schools like Ringling. What about adverse are on the school's you're doing unlike designer Russian, a college of Florida are. >> Now there's something for when we're next meeting putting together a list priorities, maybe get some Ringling design students together something for the disabled contests. That would good to the Sarasota County. >> School District to the ESE coordinator. >> Yeah, I know. Yes, he is exceptional student education. Okay. So that encompasses any student. This as any kind of a disability, okay. Services. My daughter is in charge of that. It And But you know their students and encompasses physical emotional, neurologically challenged anything. So if the school district was aware of it. Maybe that would help. Okay. It. They just can't believe that we don't get any interest. >> So I do believe that we can help people if they come to us. All that said, I will entertain a motion to you. One more thing here. Sorry where things here. All right. Andrew has another item. This tape, that kind of reflective tape pass it around. What is it for him? We could stick it on sidewalk on The >> Let me get picture yet to given a sign. the >> The site the sign in the middle of the in the middle of the site. If the noted all real way that used to be there, it far exceeds the. The overhangs recommended by the ADA K. >> And if your >> approaching it from the side, it's going to disappear. You can walk right into it. >> Yeah, but this sounds like, you know, be on the side that. So nice to see it. It's not. >> Okay. Doesn't say what, what what vocal hotel did is they have black and white hazard tape that they've put in front of all the little Florida power and light holes all around there. Area. walk into. I don't believe we have. We have the authority to do that. But it is something that Jake can communicate. >> 2 streets in San over police. I think historic preservation or start preservation yet any of them? Yeah, we can't. We can't go out and slapped things on it. Yes, yeah. We've talked to Yeah. And with that, I can tell strips on there that we all know. >> right. We're going to talk to you about page. >> Because salute they would not be so happy the kind of incorporate that signed take, surrounded with tables so could be happy about that. All right. Well, anyway. >> given us. >> You had another thing. >> This is a a just were from ation that breezy plus. >> Breezy plus with, you know, knowing that I don't know what breezy, it's the new name for the bus at staff carries. Plus, now cold breeze plots. I didn't know that they finally realize Scott was not a great It was so easy to remember >> you got to give them that. Okay. But would what about Breeze? >> Just the application here. People are interested. There's some paratransit or short. You can print out >> for next survey, we can just contact them. And they can just give us some brochures and for Africa, next that we get celebration. I don't think. This Yeah, I actually use that. >> OK, use yeah. You see I've been on this yeah, I've been on this vehicle. >> So you know all about Yeah. used them as told us that >> Yeah, you're right. It uses as well. I do have a breeze on demand. >> yeah, they're good. And they're very good. excellent. The people are so good that yeah. I think ring that may be twice as all. yeah, it's nice that it's there. there. Yeah. Initially after my accident, I was paralyzed. So I really needed them. yeah. >> They're sort of a backup if I don't have a driver, that's What I found that and that's why they're wonderful. >> And you did the one where, you need. You need a doctor to sign off on it and everything like that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So it's the same thing >> any other comments, if not, I'm still willing to entertain a motion to adjourn. >> I think we should get for a next get day trying get. >> brochures from. From breezy and try and get the breezy place. Brochures, people in all about. >> the breeze. That's what we did when we were at the farmers market. Well, that may be true, but I'm not so sure I would advise us doing it again. We did not get a lot of traction. It was not right now. We did not get a lot. We need for next event. our next event? Our next event might more likely be like in the library where there's a community event of some sort because the farmers market. What I don't think we got a lot of traction at all. Okay. Okay. It was a trial run. Okay. It was. Did people respond to this? And think that it did get some traction, but I see anything concept. Yeah, like it suggest if we keep our eyes open and now check want to admit it. Tutoring at Emma E if we could get some kind of event in new to >> mean, there are a lot of people disabilities of year who are probably unaware of things that are available and offered to them. >> Yeah, we we should all keep our eyes as a board. Our eyes open for a possible other venues for events. Yeah, because I'm not sure the farmers market was a good venue only because people go there to shop to don't necessarily go to walk around. >> And we were really on the main route. >> We were where we were. >> It has >> Texas go. okay. Well, we can with this. We we can put this on the agenda, not for the next meeting, but for the first meeting in January because it's going to happen. It's going to happen next year. Of the van. Wezel is like the worst place in the world for ADA. You mean the base at the nest? >> One of their festivals or something new? >> Yeah. Maybe some something where people are going to mill around and go from table to table to look at things supposed to be focused on. I got to go get bread. I gotta go get bagels. You know, something like that. And there are there are events like that >> The Bay might honestly be a better option. >> Just because people. They're not walking. They're the they're clustered. Yeah, they're they're there be there for a while. Yeah, I'm sure. You know, I go to downtown Sarasota. >> Condo events and they always have tables and there's vendors at every table and people walk around and, you know, they get swag and whatever, some some kind of event like that. I don't know if downtown Sarasota condo association would be. The event, but they have 2 events a year where they they do tables for informational purposes for condos. So I don't know that there must be other venues like that. Okay. Still willing to entertain a motion to dismiss. Okay. All in favor of adjourning. I I. okay all opposed hearing none. We are adjourned and we are adjourned at. 12. 25 when you got up.

So I'm not a fair housing expert, but if anyone on the board just curiosity about so there are reasonable accommodations that can also be requested from fair housing from your associations and they can go through the same interactive process as an employee would go through w
