Student and Staff Recognition Type Recognition VVSD Staff Spotlight- Liz Mateo, 7th Grade Math Teacher- Brooks Middle School Brooks Middle School Math Teacher Liz Mateo has a very straightforward goal for the students in her classroom. Liz wants her students to be unafraid of math. In a bigger picture, her classroom is also a welcoming place for some of the newest students in the VVSD community. Make a visit with us to Liz Mateo’s 7th grade math classroom where her students recently got a lesson in the concept of probability. Of course a fair question based on the results is are some of the students luckier than others, or, was probability stacked in their favor?
