Recorded outcome

The New Smyrna Beach Planning & Zoning Board met to review zoning text amendments, a shopping center rezoning request, and a special exception for auto sales. The board voted to recommend approval for all items discussed, sending them to the City Commission for final action.

Why it matters

The board's recommendations move several land-use changes forward to the City Commission, including the potential rezoning of a light industrial site for a new shopping center and new rules for rebuilding damaged nonconforming structures.
