Hit-and-run driver strikes woman in crosswalk, moves her to sidewalk, and leaves her for hours in Nashville

A pedestrian remains hospitalized in critical condition following an unreported nighttime collision, and investigators are seeking public tips to identify the driver and bystanders involved.

• •A 59-year-old woman was struck by a dark-colored, four-door sedan while walking in a crosswalk at Dr. DB Todd Jr. Boulevard and Buchanan Street.
• •The crash occurred around 5:50 p.m. on Saturday.
• •The driver, described as a Black woman wearing a purple shirt and light-colored pants, got out and helped move the victim from the roadway to a sidewalk with the assistance of other people in the area.
• •The driver left the scene after several minutes without calling police.
• •The victim remained unconscious on the sidewalk for nearly five hours until officers were flagged down around 10:40 p.m.
• •Officers administered Narcan upon finding the victim, but she did not respond.
• •The victim was transported to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, where she remained in critical condition as of Monday.
• •Crash investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Traffic Division or Crime Stoppers.
